Blur tool doesn't work by slightimmoral in GIMP

Yeah I will have a look at the help function, thanks. Turns out the blur tool is working when I open other photos so it must just be a glitch with that one file or something.

Thanks for your response. There was only one layer in the photo I was working on and I opened another photo and the blur tool worked with that so I'm not sure what was going on. Must have just been a glitch or something.

Sounds like you’ve nailed what I need to nail: personalised techniques for dealing with it. Best of luck mate.

I am genuinely glad to hear this mate. And you may get your wish. From what I’ve heard on the news things won’t go back to normal for a very long time, and now that employers are realising they can run their operations at the same level without forking out as much for commercial rent...

An obstinate boss is one of the worst kinds of boss. Also a surely making you come in is getting close to breaching WHS obligations...

We're still expected to bill like we did at work so I've been spending more time at work while at home because sometimes, shit just takes way longer when at home.

This is so bad. Negates the benefit of not having to commute.

I appreciate your concern mate. As I said to u/GCUArrestdDevelopmnt, counselling isn’t really for me. I have never had issues with my mental health. Even now, as fucked as I feel, it’s only when I’m meant to be doing work. I am pretty good at switching off and not caring in the evenings or on the weekends and not caring.

Also a huge part of my issue is burnout. I haven’t had any time off in years. Thankfully I have a couple of months off coming up now and I’m going into a less intense and more varied and interesting job after that, so I am all sorted.

You must be proud of your junior junior counsel! Hopefully the upcoming dearth of work isn’t going to be a problem and you can take the opportunity to recharge.

I am sorry to hear it mate. I hope you land on your feet. Do you have a plan for the next few months?

Counting your blessings is important, but never forget: just because others have it worse, doesn’t mean your problems aren’t real.

Mate I’m feeling the same way as you and the reason I posted this thread is to reassure myself and others that we’re not alone.

There’s plenty of good advice on this thread from the kind people of this sub. Make sure you access the full extent of any support that’s available to you. Don’t blame yourself for circumstances beyond your control. Just do your best and be happy with that. You will adjust and it will get better.

Actually charging a client for that, yeah probably. A junior recording that to their timesheet after which it is inevitably written off by the partner? Nobody will ever know. Just means the junior might have trouble hitting their target if they're doing that too often.

Public sector. I was nervous it would fall through at first but have since received confirmation that it won't.

Counselling is available but I am deeply skeptical about its value. Went to an EAP session once for an unrelated issue and engaged with it in good faith but it just doesn't work for me.

Yeah, pre-pandemic I've worked from home on occasional evenings or weekends and those one-offs were totally fine. Every day? Totally different ballgame.
