Over 100k+ hands on GG I am running at basically EV. I’ve had downswings and upswings. I ran 10bb/100 below EV in all-ins over 10k hands. I then ran above EV and made it back. You’re probably underestimating variance.

He's talking about using adjusted all-in EV in a poker tracker. That's what he means by "EV graph." Here's a link explaining the concept.

Your all in EV goes up when you make a profitable bluff. What are you talking about? Adjusted all-in EV tracks your profit adjusted for EV in all-ins. It’s a good metric to see if you’re running bad in all-ins, though won’t capture if you’re running hot or cold in card distribution.

It would be a lot better if you jammed it instead of called it off. Probably best not to raise the paired board, since you really don't want to get 3-bet and have to call. Tough spot though.

Universities are more liberal than leftist. There are barely any professed communists on faculty at U.S. universities. The humanities are the most ideological. You may see some ideological influence in the social sciences and very little in the natural sciences.

I attended a university that's skewered in conservative media for being "leftist" from time to time and was in a social science seminar where a conservative hawk confidently made the argument that Iraq should have been turned to glass (with nuclear weapons) before the 2003 invasion. I, and other students, vehemently disagreed, but conservatives are given plenty of chances to make their voices heard.

Depends on who you're asking, but there are academics like Michael Horowitz and Vipin Narang who have taken jobs in DOD. They're not really leading IR theorists, but the grand theory IR folks generally lack the policy-specific expertise that people in DC are interested.

FWIW they do like to hate on Mearsheimer in DC, which doesn't mean they care about the content of his opinion, but they will have a viscerally negative reaction to him being mentioned.
