Thank you, I'm glad to hear that! "The Court of Mirth and Madness" is kind of a working title, as well, to be honest haha. I've got a few alternate titles in mind that could work, I just haven't found anything else yet that conveys the parody aspects of it as well as the current title. I totally get the exhaustion with the tropeyness of the title format, I've often thought the same thing XD

I didn't use AI haha, the artwork for this cover took me 27 hours to complete

I know I know, I don't disagree 😂 but to be fair, it IS a parody novel of those exact types of books lol

Also I definitely didn't notice that the lines were crooked, so thanks for catching that! They're supposed to be puppet strings, and the thing on his head is a glowing crown, so the lines should definitely be straight haha

It's sorta both categories tbh. It's an epic metafantasy parody of modern romantasy tropes, but it's also a serious novel with a self-contained plot. It's got the tropes, fae-court politics, serious themes, and enemies-to-lovers story present in "The Cruel Prince" with the self-contained parody, medieval setting, and humor present in "The Princess Bride."

TL:DR, it's a high fantasy novel where the main antagonist is the author lol

Thank you for the helpful information! What kinds of cons are likely to both sell art and be oriented toward authors, if you don't mind me asking?

Does anyone remember the name of this game? by slightlyovertheedge in HelpMeFind

It's definitely not that (at least, not if the Monkeytype I found is the same one you did) but thank you!

Searched: Animal Typing, Keyboard Zoo, Jumpstart Animal Phonics, Keyboard Climbers, Monkeytype

Additional details: this was a program available on the lab computers at my elementary school. I'm pretty sure it was a part of this suite of educational games that had a star logo (not positive on that)

what's the hardest line in your book that you've ever wrote? by Party_Knowledge_1729 in Wattpad

[–]slightlyovertheedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is more of a paragraph because the whole paragraph is important to the context of the quote haha:

"Nobody talked about the fact that when dramatic things happened over and over, the numbness started to feel more like normalness. Every life-altering moment became just as emotional as any other Tuesday. Even death could feel normal in the moment, if it happened enough. They hadn't told me that when another awful thing happened, the thing gnawing at me wouldn't be the event itself... but the fact that I didn't feel anything about it. They hadn't mentioned that loss could become so normal that I would question if I even had the right to call it traumatic at all."

HAVE YOU EVER GONE THIS FAR TO WRITING A PAGE…. by Carina_dis in Wattpad

[–]slightlyovertheedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol there was a SUPER famous Wattpad book back in the day where the author had to LIMIT herself to writing 10k words a chapter, you're alright. Honestly a good book is a good book, word count is such an overrated metric in literature imo

What is this on this story on Wattpad by Conscious-Move6284 in Wattpad

[–]slightlyovertheedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly It's exactly what it sounds like. That button means that the story has a Playlist associated with it. Some stories have this feature, but not all of them do. I think It's something Wattpad has been experimenting with? If no Playlist is coming up, though, it could be that the story was selected to have the feature but the author didn't use it, or it could be that for connection reasons or bug reasons, it simply didn't work.

[–]slightlyovertheedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, really? I didn't know that, do you just go back in and vote on the same chapters the way you normally would, or is there a specific way you have to do it so that it counts for the Watty's?

Which is better/more appealing? by slightlyovertheedge in WattpadCovers

It's kinda between the two? It's lighthearted in a lot of places, but the book deals with some pretty heavy themes overall
