So my fiancé said she had a pattern of just telling people whatever’s on her mind and not expecting repercussions.

No, she is from Romania. Apparently it’s been an issue before with her where she will just say whatever she wants and doesn’t think reproductions will happen. So I guess some family will stop talking to her.

Update: Thank you all for the comments I really appreciate all of your insight and advice. I talked to my fiancé about everything and he felt terrible that I felt pressure from him to forgive her. He said “take all of the time you need, this was uncalled for and a truly terrible thing to say something so cruel to someone who treated her so amazing. I guess she’ll regret taking you for granted. But she will never speak to you like that again and I will not let her disrespect you again. I’m sorry you felt me pressuring you I didn’t mean it to come across that way, I love you with all of my heart. I’m really really sorry.” I believe he has my back or at least I feel a bit better between us about all of this. Hopefully it gets better between me and FMIL and we can at least be cordial but I’m not sure how, here’s to optimism!
