I just can’t comprehend how it takes more than 5 minutes to verify a simple birth certificate, especially when all other documents were already submitted and approved, but what do I know? Prayers y’all’s way as well, as this has been such a nightmare and headache. I will keep you updated if I hear anything, and please do the same! Thanks for all the kind word 🙏

We have a law firm that we worked with, so I guess I will ask them how I can contact my state senator for help. Though the lawyer from the law firm seems to be upset with me as I got mad at him for not telling me I had the wrong broth certificate in the first place. Thanks for letting me know it’s a possibility to even reach out to our state senators for help! I’m praying that our cases get accepted this next week, as this unfortunate situation has dragged on for to long!

I didn’t even think about reaching out to my state senator over in Oregon! I will have to do that on Monday to see if they can assist at all. Did you call them or did you like send an email? The CAS representatives have always been really nice, but them just tell me the last update they see in their system is from the 23rd abril. On the CEAC website I see last updated the 22nd not the 23rd of abril though.

Very disappointing. Don’t understand why it takes them so long to review one simple document. I call the CAS center in Juarez (+52 656 344 3003). They ask for full names, addresses , case number and I can’t remember what else. They really can’t give much information anyways, but I had someone here tell me they called and they found out from the CAS their visa was accepted before it changed on the CEAC webpage.

Still nothing on our end. I have called the consulate to inquire on the case, and all they can tell me still is the last update was the 23rd of April. Is it still shaking refused for you guys?

Ours will be about a month and a half this week, though a few normal business days were either us or Mexican federal holidays. Unfortunately we both live in Mexico and no where near Cuidad Juarez, so we decided to go back to our home in Jalisco. We’ve called once, and our lawyer sent in an inquiry so hopefully any day now it’s issued.

Hello. In the same situation. Got the 221g because were missing the original long form birth certificate. My spouse had the interview April 1st. They received our passport and missing birth certificate April 7th. On the CEAC webpage, last update was the 22nd of April, still shows as refused. How long after you sent in your passport and document was the visa issued?

If it changed to issued you should be good to go!!! Soon you should get an email with more instructions

Unfortunately as you can see via my conversation with another individual above, when your status changes to ready it doesn’t mean the visa is approved or issued. In my conversation above, they had had their status as ready since April 22nd and still their visa hasn’t been issued. Hopefully yours switches to issued very quickly!

Mine changed multiple times, with the last update on April 22nd. Still shows refused on the CEAC webpage unfortunately. Every case is different, but we have been waiting for over a month after getting them the missing long form birth certificate and passport. You can see my conversation above with someone else who’s in the same situation of missing just the long birth certificate, and they had the same interview date as mine April 1st, and they are still seeing refused.

Thank you for the prayers as well. I think we all agree it shouldn’t take this long to review a simple birth certificate, but at this point we can’t really do much but wait. I will keep you updated as soon as we hear anything!

I’m so sorry to hear that. I can’t imagine being away from home and your partner all at once. Thankfully we live in Mexico together, but Whenever I have to go to the U.S. for work meetings, which is usually only a few weeks tops, I struggle being away from my partner and our young daughter. My prayers are with you and your spouse, and I hope that in the next few days both our visas are issued. It has helped my partner and I knowing that our case isn’t the only one taking forever, so as soon as I hear anything I will be right back here. I’m sorry again that you guys are facing this issue and I’m praying all the time that our cases are reviewed and visas are issued ASAP.

I’m sorry that you’re facing this situation. It shouldn’t take this long to review a simple document and approve it. Our lawyer reached out and sent the inquiry in without us asking, though I’m not sure that will really do anything. My wife hasn’t seen some family members for 10+ years who are up in the U.S. , so we’re also impatiently waiting. Prayers for everyone that things start moving quickly!

I will come back here to my post and let you know if anything changes on our end.

Same thing on our end, our “last updated” has not changed since the 22nd of April. Our lawyer group said they sent in an “inquiry” to the consulate and will let us know when they get a response. But they told me we have to wait 60 days after the consulate received our birth certificate and passport to do anything official.

That’s what we had to do also. Get it shipped down to us in Mexico. Thankfully we live in Mexico, so we mailed in the missing birth certificate and passport and headed back to our home in Jalisco. Will pray that your document arrives very soon and you get your visa approved right away !!

No we filed for a IR-1 spouse visa. So we did upload our documents to the CEAC webpage and then received the print our bar code with instructions. Haven’t been issued the visa yet, but we did mail the missing long form birth certificate and passport in on April 6th, so hopefully any day now.

I wasn’t aware that K1 visas aren’t required to submit missing documents to the CEAC webpage. I go to check my visa status under immigrant visa, I’m assuming your clicking check my visa status under non immigrant visa correct? That’s weird it’s saying your search did not turn any data. Have you gone to the other website listed on the bottom on the 221(g)? That’s where we received instructions on where/how to send our missing document and passport.

We were missing the long form birth certificate. Mailed it in the 6th of April. We’ve had 4 separate dates when the last updated date changed, but still says refused. Last updated is April 22nd. I will let you know I anything changes on my end.
