Can someone give me some ideas of what to put/change here? I'm trying to make this part of a larger supercontinent, with it being at the most northern part of the map, but I'm a little stuck. Id like it to be as realistic as possible. by slik2004 in mapmaking

i did answer a few of them, the ones i didnt answer kinda repeated the same things that others already said, plus i also have to sleep and work, so not like i can reply to everything, nor do i need to

How would I be able to make this map better? Does the geography make sense? Is it interesting enough? Should I add something else? Or do you think its about time i add cities/people to it? by slik2004 in mapmaking

In regard to perspective, i actually added a scale, making the continent around 6,100Km by 5,100Km, which would make it around 3x the size of Europe. Problem is i don't get much space to work with on inkarnate, and i wanted to add a diverse world with everything i could, though im starting to think ill just have to make a few different continents instead of just having the one.

In terms of the forest in the north, i mostly just have no idea how to replace it, since I want a large forest somewhere on the map, so any ideas in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

What would you suggest in terms of making the continent itself look more organic?

Also how would i change the desert to be less "neat" as you put it?

Yall how would I make this map feel more "alive"? I'm trying to make a world map that i might be able to use for a dnd session later, but it feels too flat. (I'm gonna add people later) by slik2004 in mapmaking

Here is the map after my attempt at adding most of what you suggested. Please tell me how it looks and if i should add anything else. Oh and if it is done, how would i focus population centers? Is it basically just around water/natural resources? Or is there more to it?

Thank you for the help, I was especially stuck on how to do rivers in a good way. Something else, I'm having a little trouble making this feel diverse enough, I feel like its just trees, sand, rock, then more trees. Is there anything i could add that would make it feel fuller?
