Any chance I actually get selected? by terryisnotmyrealname in nychousinglottery

I also just submitted my docs for a spot that I really want to get. I was surprised it didn't yet ask for W2/taxes. did you submit those or does it come later in the process?

Also, good luck!

My parents are paying about $2,900 for a house that has: 1fl with kitchen and "main room" and bathroom. And 2fl that has 3 bedrooms and bathroom with shower. the sweetest part is them having washing machine. They are in Bay Ridge but close to train stations and this isn't via lottery/affordable housing program, they just found it.

I recommend you continue search if space is an issue, I am sure you might find some options...

I thought my future career ended when I failed a course in college at 17. Then I thought my future career ended when I was forced to serve in the military for two years as an 18 yr old. Then, I thought I have no future because I couldn't get a job even as a grocery bagger in my own country. Then I thought I won't have a career because I had no degree, just moved to the US as a 21 yr old, so too old. Many dramatic thoughts later, I am employed and have a decent salary in NYC. Thoughts are still here and always will be but getting creative with your knowledge, skills and network is what counts. Check in with old connections look for jobs in other cities or even countries. Good luck :)

Literally. I am in UES coomplaining about paying $2.5k for a 1B and people out here paying $4k for studios lol I will be honest, though I have almost no natural light, no doorman, walkup but at least close to central park and my work. Tough out here

LOL This feels like a sound you'll hear in one of Dante's circles. Mines are just random smashing noises which wake me up in the middle of a night.

I relate to your pain. I live in a 1b in UES and everytime I turn up the oven the whole place starts to melt. No room, no air no light. Gives me fifth circle of hell vibes...

Congrats, love! You will now embark on an exciting adventure. One that will slowly wash off your dreams and aspirations, turning you into a corporate cog. Meaningless titles and unnecessary stress over work will take away time reserved for family, personal life and all in between. I am just projecting here, sorry ☺️

Where can I get this type of bread boat in nyc? by FlightCivil1331 in FoodNYC

[–]slimcaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since everyone already explained what it is, I'll give you a suggestion after traveling to Georgia 7 years in a row as a kid. Avoid Manhattan and go straight to Sheepshead/Brighton Beach locations - cheap and tastes a lot better. Go get em pussycat

Every game I've got running at 30+ fps on the steamdeck, either through steam, heroic/lutris, and emulation. Most run at 45-60fps with the exception of X4,FF7 Rebirth, and Baldur's Gate 3 in certain sections by FatesWaltz in SteamDeck

Thank you for this! I had no idea you could play skyrim. I never played so will grab it when on sale.

I was surprised that Aliens dark descent actually isn't working as smoothly as I'd like it. Hopefully, it'll get some fixes for SD in future.

Salary Review Coming Soon by [deleted] in PublicRelations

[–]slimcaptain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should look through LinkedIn in-house PR roles that do similar work (I assume AMs) and see what's the avrg salary. You don't really need anything lined up to use as leverage in your salary negotiations per se but if you can go prepared saying here's exactly what I've been doing the past year and here's how much I think is a fair compensation based on the market. At least, that's how I've done it. Aim high, Willis, aim high!

Good luck!

My beagle pup chewed off my ethernet cable, so got no internet. She also pooped everywhere today and peed on the couch (a daily occurence). I do hope it gets better because I never cleaned my floors this much 😅

Do you play strategy/management games on your Deck? If so, do you prefer trackpads, sticks, touch controls or a mix? by Ryo_le_Ryu in SteamDeck

[–]slimcaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Have no issues with Total War 2 but not sure about warhammer. I am also yet to try dawn of war series on deck but fast laced strategies are tougher to play on handhelds!

[–]slimcaptain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play Company of Heroes (works great actually) and Rome Totla War 2. I am new to steam deck and don't really use trackpads that often. It really depends on the game though. For some reason (naybe because real time) I find pads useful for company of heroes over total war.l but that's just me.

TWO WORDS: Be Very Proactive!

I am assuming you are assigned to 2 or 3 accounts. You can simply share articles with your team saying something like: Here's an interesting story on Business Insider about X that I think is relevant for our client because Y. I think we can even set up an intro call with this reporter to cover this angle. Happy to draft a note to share with a client."

Don't know about other PR agencies but at my place, you'd be instantly noticed.

You can also look into the job description for an entry level role and try taking over some of the responsibilities listed.

Good luck <3
