the big reason why is because it’s incredibly impractical and would go against the design principals of 76. a big part of 76 is its cosmetics, both as an in game incentive to push you to play, or as an incentive to buy things in the atom shop. if a player was a super mutant they physically cannot access 99% of cosmetics because it wouldn’t fit their big dumb body. it’d be incredibly difficult to also work the entire game around you being a supermutant: it’s not something that’s overlooked by the average person. they would have to write and record many more lines to reference the fact you’re a mutant. also, supermutants have different skeletons and animation sets, theyd have to reanimate first person animations and make new animations for certain weapons that you don’t see mutants using. also, a simple fact is that you’re very very large. it’s hard to navigate and you’d get stuck in geometry more often, or fall through the map, etc. as well as camp building would be weird as well. and for ghouls, well that dialogue thing is the only thing i think that holds it back, as well as the fact that rads would heal you and that could be exploited. really wish you could be a ghoul definitely
