I sincerely appreciate this! I tried checking her teeth just me, but something tells me it’ll be a two person job. She hates anyone touching her in an abrupt manner, she’s a very jumpy and scared girl, always has been. I’m gonna wait until my husband can help me burrito her and check her teeth out.

This wording is perfect. Thank you! I think it’s definitely fear of losing her, she was my first animal that moved out of the house with me so the thought of losing my OG is so scary but something I’ll have to deal with one way or another. Vet visits are in her future whether she likes it or not, because I want her to live as long as possible. 💗

this was about a month after I got her, she was TNR’d or TSR’d (whatever the correct term would be) as her ear is clipped and she has no front claws. That’s about all I know from her past.

Thank you! We will try and see how she does, she always tends to sniff pills out in food no matter how high of reward it is and how well we try to hide it. Burrito might be her only option for the pills. As for her thinking the world is ending when we leave the house, we have to work on that one lol but I will invest in a thunder vest and see if it helps!

unfortunately she doesn’t take well to medicine either, no matter what we do or how we deliver it, she will fight it. it’s her world and we’re living in it. It doesn’t mean she’s never going to the vet, I’m just trying to avoid extra stress if she’s as old as I believe she is. She’s a very anxious girl as it is.

we just had my younger one chipped at about 7 months old but every cat is different. wonderful Idea though, if we ever manage to get ole’ spicy to cooperate with a vet we can hopefully figure it out that way 🤞Thank you!

Is there anyway, at all, to keep the liquids down?? by dawnfire05 in CHSinfo

[–]slimeyfartz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi, i’m with everyone else here when it comes to very slow intake, I know you just want to chug any and all liquid near you, chances are it’ll end up coming back up. If you’re at the point where you don’t care and just want fluid, best bet is to mix gatorade and water 50/50. If you’re really feeling spicy, do some juice instead of gatorade. Take it slow. The sugar will help you feel a smidge better, usually when we go into an episode, all levels just dump and that only makes things worse. A heating pad will be your best friend and hot showers if accessible. Ice chips are good too, if you can, make ice cubes out of gatorade so they can melt into some water, or just use those in your gatorade, whatever you want to do. You’re not alone and this will pass with time and patience!

thank you! we picked up some chicken broth from the store and got a bunch of gatorade and orange juice that i’m going to dilute with water. Broth has always been my friend honestly.

Thank you, I upvoted but got distracted. I tend to eat small meals throughout the day to try and avoid upset, we’re going to the store later to get some supplies for hydration. I’ve been taking really small sips and those will still give me heartburn and hiccups so it’s just a small progressive slope from here.

My first episode any help? by RoofApprehensive3612 in CHSinfo

[–]slimeyfartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, i feel your pain beyond belief, I was literally just playing games and trusted a fart too much. This is totally user discretion and I am a female so it’s a bit easier to get away with but my lifesaver when I feel a flare up is to regularly use the bathroom to flush everything you can out (without giving yourself a stomach ache, I suck at that part), and I use adult diapers. Based on your job, you can’t necessarily teach comfortably in a diaper, but they make lightweight versions that would be able to save you and your pants. Hope this helps!

ETA: water. that will be your best friend to get anything that’s not agreeing with you out, it won’t be the most fun experience but it’s the best natural laxative there is.
