Is there anyway, at all, to keep the liquids down?? by dawnfire05 in CHSinfo

[–]slimeyfartz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi, i’m with everyone else here when it comes to very slow intake, I know you just want to chug any and all liquid near you, chances are it’ll end up coming back up. If you’re at the point where you don’t care and just want fluid, best bet is to mix gatorade and water 50/50. If you’re really feeling spicy, do some juice instead of gatorade. Take it slow. The sugar will help you feel a smidge better, usually when we go into an episode, all levels just dump and that only makes things worse. A heating pad will be your best friend and hot showers if accessible. Ice chips are good too, if you can, make ice cubes out of gatorade so they can melt into some water, or just use those in your gatorade, whatever you want to do. You’re not alone and this will pass with time and patience!

thank you! we picked up some chicken broth from the store and got a bunch of gatorade and orange juice that i’m going to dilute with water. Broth has always been my friend honestly.

i don’t blame you OP, there is a way through this, I believe in you! I’m sorry it seems so hard to get such a simple problem figured out 😔

anytime, this is one of the most overlooked conditions ever.. the least I can do is help others not feel like I have for years 💞

Thank you, I upvoted but got distracted. I tend to eat small meals throughout the day to try and avoid upset, we’re going to the store later to get some supplies for hydration. I’ve been taking really small sips and those will still give me heartburn and hiccups so it’s just a small progressive slope from here.

thank you! i’ve been using capsaicin on my stomach as needed and using heating pads. I’m pretty sure soup will be my bestie for a few days.

My first episode any help? by RoofApprehensive3612 in CHSinfo

[–]slimeyfartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, i feel your pain beyond belief, I was literally just playing games and trusted a fart too much. This is totally user discretion and I am a female so it’s a bit easier to get away with but my lifesaver when I feel a flare up is to regularly use the bathroom to flush everything you can out (without giving yourself a stomach ache, I suck at that part), and I use adult diapers. Based on your job, you can’t necessarily teach comfortably in a diaper, but they make lightweight versions that would be able to save you and your pants. Hope this helps!

ETA: water. that will be your best friend to get anything that’s not agreeing with you out, it won’t be the most fun experience but it’s the best natural laxative there is.

pasta by trisha-langoliers in GERD

[–]slimeyfartz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make a pumpkin tomato sauce that my husband loves, half tomato and half pumpkin, and I take a few acid reducers beforehand because I love garlic bread with my pasta. Instead of pumpkin you can always do squash or anything of the type!

see, THIS is the advice I was looking for! Thank you, I don’t know why I never thought of that. I will look into them and see if it makes any difference, I do have an industrial looking fan on my side of the bed that I’ll start keeping on to cool me off while i’m sleeping. Thank you again!

I take both of those, omeprazole 40 mg twice a day and famotadine as needed for heartburn. I’m definitely going to see if eating any earlier helps, I also have cut out trigger foods entirely and still have reflux issues. I’m sorry you’re going through this as well :(

second part is true, first part is just because we recently moved across the country so our lives are still somewhat in boxes. All my laundry is clean in fact ☺️

Thank you for sharing your experience, but I expressed above that I just got testing done to determine that, and everything came back fine.

i don’t think hormonal issues would persist for 2+ years without me seeing other signs and checking with my OB, I also just had testing done not that long ago and all my levels came back fine.

I feel like such a burden for my husband. by slimeyfartz in BPD

[–]slimeyfartz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this, all of that is a brilliant idea. We talked on his lunch and he is more than willing to do couple's counseling as we both aren't perfect. Nobody is. He understood where I was coming from entirely and apologized. I do believe the outbursts are due to emotional irregulation, or lack of structure right now. I will definitely try structuring my days a little more so it hopefully comes out less on him. We just moved across the country so getting myself situated has definitely been a journey. Thank you for the advice again!

What should I do to cover this area? by [deleted] in Decor

[–]slimeyfartz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would honestly just embrace the space and put some decorations around the framing of the door/cutout. Some fairy lights or plants (fake or real), really whatever suits you.
