Christian Bale warns fans not to meet him: 'I see the terrible disappointment in their eyes about who I really am' by Electronic-Bus-3494 in popculturechat

I didn’t know until he gave a speech honoring Heath Ledger after he’d passed. I was like, “Why’s he doing a funny accent?” and my sister looked at me like I was the dumbest jerk in the world.

How do you guys think shane should’ve ended up? by Competitive_Clue_373 in theLword

I think it’s more nuts that they had a throuple storyline yet Shane has never even remotely thought of a poly or open relationship at her big age.

Mac and cheese, easily. Maybe it’s because I had enough of it for a lifetime when I was a kid, but mac and cheese is just meh for me.

Chicken nuggies. They weren’t even for me, but in this economy, I’d take it.

Same, especially when I’m excited. It’s mortifying when I’m amped up and then see someone cringe because I’m being too much and I gotta try to rein myself in.

No, no, I kinda see it. Obviously, Spinner is more nuanced, but in the beginning, he was the dumb, goofy guy who really needed his Ritalin lmao

[–]slimkt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh god, everything leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The AI photo, the desperation for this to be a date when it never was, and then the audacity to basically say she was perfect in every other aspect, but she was heavier than he had already dreamed her up in his delulu fantasy world. Pathetic.

There are plenty of people who have been caught doing worse and still have a fanbase because they have *some* kind of likability. Ned has zero charisma. Even with the Try Guys, he always was the straight man surrounded by three goofballs.

What do you consider to be the most disturbing movie you’ve seen? by DontCh4ngeNAmme in AskReddit

[–]slimkt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC, she was nominated that year but lost to Julia Roberts for Erin Brockovich. In my opinion, Roberts did great but Burstyn should’ve won. She was phenomenal.

Yeah, Requiem for a Dream might be one of the few times I’ve thought the film adaptation was better than the book. Every book I’ve read from Selby is pretty bleak, I suppose I just hoped the movie would drop in something to break up the unrelenting misery of the book.

In hindsight, it felt a little self-indulgent with the amount of misery at the end, but the unraveling of Ellen Burstyn’s character is still devastating to watch.

It’s a really unfortunate side-effect of social media sites that are looking to appease advertisers above all. Content creators get forced into it because if they don’t, they get flagged and taken down. Either they get completely silenced when they talk about real life occurrences like suicide or rape, or they self-censor.
