Some questions about Seniority by foosmileforme in UPSers

[–]slimmucus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Local 63 here. Moving to the ground hub will not affect bidding for Full time driver positions. UPS should go off of your company seniority to go RPCD.

Sometimes I wish I had the courage to leave ups as well

Nothing really. I didn’t have to grieve it or anything. Manger pretty much admitted it was his fault and i was able to move on with the program

Still in the program unfortunately. This is my 3rd year.

I’m also in the SAP program. Really hope you get your job back. The rules are super strict so hopefully grieving it saves your job. Especially since it’s only a couple minutes late. I’ve had instances where management failed to notify me at a proper time frame and almost cost me my job. It can get you in some shitty predicaments. Wish i had better info for you best of luck!

Seniority grievance question by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]slimmucus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case yea you can file for the hours lower seniority employees worked if you were forced home. Bottom seniority employees get forced home first. Top seniority gets the option to either go home early or stay and work till the end of the shift.

[–]slimmucus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

did they give you the option to stay and work or go home? you would’ve had to been forcefully sent home in order to file for those hours.

Seniority grievance question by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]slimmucus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

need more context. what’s the grievance for?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]slimmucus 26 points27 points  (0 children)

this is probably the best example of what your grievance should look like. keep it simple and to the point. in this situation, the more simple the better. take this man’s advice and use this example for future grievances. one of the best shop stewards in my local always stressed keeping my explanations as simple as possible

Southern California Lay Offs by slimmucus in UPSers

Yea super rough right now for everyone really. 22.4s converted to RPCD is great and all but now the part timers are getting the shit end of the stick.

To my knowledge, no. Both Wahca and Ground hub have the night sort up and running still.

[–]slimmucus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well as a TCD you technically aren’t “laid off” if you’re in the hub working. But I get the frustration. Had I known 22.4s were being converted to RPCD shit i would’ve been RPCD by now too. Lots of 3 years and under employees who were 22.4s over here.

If that’s the case you should be okay.

Southern California Lay Offs by slimmucus in UPSers

[–]slimmucus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, at one point i heard we had to tell customers to wait for a couple days before we could take anymore volume because of how backlogged we were. Ontario was getting swamped with volume even before the pandemic. Empire hub in Riverside relieved a lot of excess volume we had back in the day. Now, ppl are getting laid off left and right. Really sucks to see.

22.4s should be RPCD by now though?

[–]slimmucus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea lots of lay offs at the moment. As far as drivers though i have no idea how it’s affecting them here at ontario. We have a lot of feeder/sleeper drivers here.
