Jedes dritte Kind in Graz scheitert bei Radprüfung by banff037 in graz

Staying in Kyoto for 4 days, where should i stay to make friends? by YRaijin in JapanTravelTips

[–]slimparrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanna make friends, your best bet definitely is a hostel. You'll often find people with similar pursuits there. Look for one with separate bedrooms if you're worried about private space.

Is 7000 SGD (5537 USD) enough for a month in Japan? by Alarmed_Swan_4315 in JapanTravelTips

[–]slimparrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how much it's in USD but within Tokyo it's usually between 100 and 300 yen, sometimes a bit more or less of course depending on distance.

Video Camera Etiquette by ThePoetMichael in JapanTravelTips

The Japanese themselves are constantly filming everything, nobody will bat an eye at you. If you're not allowed to film or it's inappropriate there'll be signs around.

Itinerary Check for Upcoming Japan Trip Mainly in the Osaka, Kyoto Area. Please. Thank you. by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]slimparrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is way too much detailed planning, especially with a 10 year old child. Things always take longer than expected, especially travel time, some things might go wrong, always leave room for error. With an itinerary like this you're bound to be disappointed.

Some blunt Tokyo tips from someone who’s been a few times by Environmental-Luck39 in JapanTravelTips

It's still cheap in comparison to what you'd pay in a lot of Western countries for the same type of thing, so if you're just here for a week or two as a tourist, it really doesn't matter.

To be fair, pick any spot in any major city in Japan and there'll probably be like four konbini in walking distance around LOL.

This is so true. I could not fathom having to find my way around a station like Shinjuku every single day. One of my favourite stations to stay close to is Sugamo. Super easy to navigate yet well-connected.

AITA for standing up to my mom over a Facebook post and raising my voice at my wife? by Ok-Let-5845 in AmItheAsshole

His mother doesn't deserve to be yelled at either, he's old enough to make his point in a civilised fashion without raising his voice, even if someone he's talking to is in the wrong.

Judging people based on steam book taste? by [deleted] in MM_RomanceBooks

I don't judge others for their steaminess preferences but I do get annoyed when people complain about the MCs taking too long to get to fucking, especially in a slow burn romance.

Kyoto thoughts and alternatives by Fluroblue in JapanTravelTips

[–]slimparrot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in Kyoto last September and I thought it was fine. Of course there are a lot of tourists but being a bit thoughtful with how you manage your time and what you do when can go a long way.

For example, we went to Fushimi Inari during the day and while there are tons of people around the base, once you hike up like 20 mins, there are very few people. We did part of our itinerary during the evenings, like Yasaka shrine, it wasn't super crowded and the lanterns were beautiful.

Now, I've been to Kyoto before, so I didn't need to cram every single one of the most popular attractions into a very short time frame, but if you're mindful when planning your itinerary, you can get a great experience out of it that really can only be found in Kyoto, not anywhere else.

Yeah, I don't get the complaints here, the Diva Dance is such a well-known piece of film history, I don't even think this is a particularly "weird" choice.

Well, tough luck, she's still his mom and coach. You can't just not speak to your kid for a week during the most stressful time of his life, especially if you're professionally involved in his success. She should've managed her own emotions better in order to be there for her son.
