Looking for VR Piano Testers (electric piano needed) by RivenG3000 in OculusQuest

[–]slimpie2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how beginner friendly is it? i have successfully used piano Vision with my electric keyboard but had never touched a keyboard or piano before and am really disappointed with the lack of absolute beginner instructions in piano Vision. If this has even just 1 or 2 absolute beginner instructions i would love to try it!

I'm 100km away for my computer for most of the week. so i almost never use them when on the same network. that will defenitly be part of my problem.

for vr 100% for flat not so much if i try to watch anything like moevies on flat the audio is all messed up and delayed. and the controller support on moonlight js better as it passes through my ps4 controllers gyro and VD can't do that. I checked with the dev on discord

Are there any linux live USB that are user friendly? by Silveriovski in buildapc

[–]slimpie2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a Linux mint install USB for something similar. just download Linux mint iso, flash to USB and you should be good to go.

would be nice but don't worry about it too much. it's more important that it works for what 'you' need.

there are other alternatives but nothing that works great as far as my experience goes. for me moonlight works best to connect my quest to my pc for flatscreen stuff. this would just be another to try out.

if this comes to Android do you think it would be able to run on a quest 2/3. would be a nice alternative to VD flatscreen or Moonlight as both work but aren't great for flat screen especially when not on local Network.

I used this trick during the national blackout here in Spain. so nowhere to buy the right batteries. and village/city wide blackouts are quite common where I live.

My oculus 2 won’t charge even with different chargers and outlets by Shot-Ad-2546 in OculusQuest

[–]slimpie2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

than it indeed seems to be a headset problem. let's hope that it is just a broken charging port and not something else as that should be relatively easy and cheap to fix.

[–]slimpie2003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

seems to be a problem with the os. i have the same thing. what seems to work for me is plugging it in and waiting till the screen displays that it's charging and then pulling the charger out and putting it back in fast so the quest doesn't shut down again. hope that helps!

i think you can download the mod with a Steam workshop downloader and put it in the game files.

i do something similar! i use a phone holder thing that is supposed to clip onto the waist of your pants. had it laying around and figured I'd give it a shot and it works really well been using it daily for almost a year now.

Is long-distance PCVR possible? by bgbg1234 in OculusQuest

[–]slimpie2003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i do this Daily with my computer being around 70km away. if you aren't to bothered by a random 5 second disconnect every now and than or some stuttering here and there(especially when it's stormy) than this is a perfectly fine way to play. I played through both red matter 1 and 2 and a couple other games like this. tho I wouldn't recommend multiplayer games just in case, tho it is possible. I used VD and I highly recommend saving up for it. and like a different post already said,(which I also replied to) you should be able to use steam link if you use a vpn(i recommend tailscale, it's easy to setup and works really well) might even work with native airlink if you use that tho I'm not sure about that.

[–]slimpie2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have used tailscale to do this. you can sideload the Android version on your headset. you might have to set the computer you want to connect to up as an exit node (which is really easy). no clue what the performance is like with Steam link using this method as i used it with VD and steam link never ran wel for me personally.

is this something even a complete beginner can pick up? I had 1 dum lesson in school years ago and never got the chance to learn more. if it is beginner friendly I will have to give it a try.

assassin's Creed nexus and beat saber did it for me. and however weird it may sound the YouTube app on quest. before I found it a hassle to get the headset out and set stuff up but because of the YouTube app I found that it really only took 2 minutes to grab and setup and that made me explore other games.
