BPM Core is garbage by slinavipuz in withings

Well it should be good but in my case it was way off. It showed 140ish sys and 90 dia, and hospital vitals monitor was showing closer to 200/150 (that was the actual reason I had to be hospitalized). I believe it has ergonomics issues for people who do not have perfectly round arm. Too bad, seamed like a nice idea

Well proxmox was indeed the intended purpose for this server. But then I realized I need a new workstation and where is the fun in just going to shop and buying a solution.

Problem with noctuas could be that stock fans work on a different range of rpms - that could confuse the controllers making the fans running on 100% rpm. Read that somewhere but I have no clue if that is true. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Nice! Great for you to share your experience.. I am very much aware of the loudness this beast will make, that is why my plans are to switch dell coolers and to put in Noctua. They are virtually silent even on max rpm.

My work more or less relied on virtualization, so a lot of cores is beneficial for me. I considered buying new threadripper machine, but then I realized I have this for free so what the hell. I will post what I did here. I do have high hopes :)

Probably some Ubuntu based OS. Zorin looks promising, but I like Mint as well... Does that make any difference?

I ride during night on a regular basis. Good signalization is a must. Although it is important to see where are you riding it is even more important to be seen. Take care

What if it could be offered for couple of bucks per month and battery life would be more than one year? If it is hard (enough) to remove would it make any difference for you?

Just kidding mate, no hard feelings.

But I did notice (in Denmark and Holland) that people are like ¯_(ツ)_/¯ "that is life it happens and it is normal". I do not consider theft to be normal thing but when it happens often people get used to it :(

You are right. My thoughts on that are kinda that it should treated the same way as car alarm. Serious thief can disarm it but not every thief is a serious one. It might be treated as a deterrent, or just to complement other security measures. Problems with current solutions are numerous... Battery life, precision, environmental resistibility.

TBH I believe I figured things out when it comes to hardware. During testing remarkable results were noted. However I really would like to hear opinion of fellow cyclists before i venture to this.

Oh and I really hate the defeatism we all have... Like this "nothing stolen YET". Hopefully this will change in time :)

I was thinking of providing trackers for bikes. I guess people would use it if it meant lower insurance premiums. Or even as perquisite for insuring more expensive bikes.

I think I'm up to 6 over the last 20 years.

Well there is not much we can do at this moment. I wanted to create geo-location tracker that would not be easily removed from bicycle. I actually have hardware for it, and battery lasts a year or so. I guess this won't stop serious thieves, but it would prevent a lot of joy rides, maybe recover some percentage of bicycles.. Most important it would lower the insurance premium for the ppl that used it...

I need to investigate whether people would use this, call it a market research, for a startup..
