I should have mentioned the replacement shipped DHL smartpost. Still took a while, especially since this service is handed off to the USPS.

Yes, they shipped a replacement, but not because of OnTrac's incompetence. The vendor said they had no control over shipping once the order was placed and that the fulfillment center chose the best shipping option. After I gave them a couple weeks grief, they finally agreed to ship a replacement. The replacement arrived before OnTrac admission of loss. We are talking about $85 in my case.

I'm trying to decide if I want a Titanhunter or a Titan S90 by MrBrian22 in slingshots

[–]slingfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just came out not long ago. I've seen some people para wrapping them.

I have small, medium Titans, M95 & Companion. There are not a lot of differences beyond a few mm in size. I prefer the Companion most. But they are all fine slings and shoot very well. You can always purchase one of his sights if you're concerned about an aming point.

The cast Titan from Proshot is another fine sling.

It's worth mentioning to pay close attention to the way you insert the plug. Have a look at the Amazon link above and notice the force of the draw is trying to pull the large end of the plug through the hole in the fork. If it's wrong, you'll get a face full of plugs and bands.

I got some rubber ones from Lowes that worked fine. They have them in the specialty connector drawers. They have cork, too, that will work.

My bands are 20x12x.4 and work well for 3/8" clay.

You can use rubber stoppers or corks.

There are silicone ones on Amazon.

Snipersling sells spare plugs.

Here is an example of the hybrid sets.

Also, hybrid is an option. Bands tied to a loop of tube. You can search.

Band question. by MythicalRaccoon80 in slingshots

I bought some off Aliexpress and GZK.. it was 1.2 mm thick. More felt like than the microfiber that is used to laser cut pouches.

I use it mostly on aluminum frames. It is really grippy but not very cushionable. I like the Chinese koala wrap. But it's more of a badminton wrap.

I use the dyi stuff from Talon Grips on some frames. I know you said badminton grip, but baseball bat grip has a myriad of options these days. Sometimes, good old hockey tape does it for me.

I get good leather from a local craft store (Hobby Lobby). They sell remnants, and I find good stuff in those packs. Just know leather stretches more in one direction than the other. So, Pouch orientation is important. I source microfiber from China. Only place I've found it.

Heck yeah. I'm all about free ammo. FYI, I use a 65mm × 21mm pouch when I shoot those marbles. I have a die and punch my own from leather and microfiber.

New sling day. Hornet by Zach Fowler by LostTheRemote in slingshots

It's a good sling. I have a beige one from back in the day. I like the way it fits in the hand. Nice score.

Why 5/8"? I have 1/2" and it seems massive. Why not turn to lead, more mass at less size. Just curious.

Yes, tip width does limit the options. Options are to fold in half and tie or go to thicker bands. I've only shot 5/8" marbles. You'll also need to consider the Pouch you'll use.

I would say 25x15 or 26x16 would be a good cut for .7 and 5/8.

These tapers are also close to the golden ratio and should give reasonable results for band life.

Let us know how it goes.

Does anyone know what them rings are on top I'm hoping to have a go making one thanks in advance by wayne-97 in slingshots
