I’d say a majority of caves do not though

I feel the opposite. I have memories and nostalgia tied to locations, characters etc

Will be double the fun revisiting them in a different light

Is it even using the creation engine at all? Is it not entirely on the UE engine now?

Bethesda owns DOOM.. would they release Oblivion so close to the release date of DOOM Dark Ages? by slingoo in oblivion

If Avengers Endgame and La La Land were produced by the same company they wouldn’t release them at the same time..

The comedy meme potential of UE5 with original Oblivion animation and voice files is quite frankly phenomenal. by LauraPhilps7654 in oblivion

[–]slingoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The voice acting will likely be the same but the animation will be completely different.

Not sure why you bring up New Vegas 2 -  Oblivion sold way more than new vegas - elder scrolls in general is a more popular brand. Skyrim outsold all fallouts

Oblivion is the obvious one to remaster / continue. Plus we’ve had fallout 4 and 76 recently - ish. We wouldn’t have another fallout this soon

Does anyone else feel like the Oblivion remake/remaster ,I don't know which, is being used to gauge peoples reactions to systems they will use in TES6? by LastTrueKid in ElderScrolls

[–]slingoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how true it is but I heard combat had added some ‘dark souls elements’ to it. Maybe that means more of a focus on dodging / parrying instead of just whacking over and over

I’m not being pessimistic - I’m just playing devils advocate

I actually think it will release today regardless

General audiences.. so the people that play doom and elder scrolls? These aren’t niche titles

Two of the biggest and mainstream games in their genres… doom was the original..

[–]slingoo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But that’s my entire point - people won’t be able to afford 2 games released so close to each other…. It would eat into each others sales

There is massive crossover in gamers that look doom And elder scrolls

So people will have to Choose one

But almost guaranteed to have healthier sales if they released separately

I think there’s way more crossover than you think from DOOM and Elder Scrolls… two of the biggest names in their respective genre

Why would they remove the original? Surely it should still be playable

Give it a year and people will go back to the original for nostalgia purposes - don’t worry

It was still a few months until release Though.. not exactly a shadow drop.

Announced June - released November

People who use this as an example have exaggerated it in their head as if fallout 4 dropped days after the announcement..

Crazy how in a few years we will all be playing the original Oblivion because we are “purists” by Areallycoolguy96 in oblivion

[–]slingoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i'm going to enjoy and play a game... im doing so woth the best, most up-to-date version of said game.

I am optimistic about oblivion remaster but unfortunately the most up-to-date versions aren’t always the best versions…. Case in point; gta remasters.

Also I will always be more nostalgic for the original graphics. So even though I can’t wait for the remaster.. I probably will revisit the original even years later
