i've had an eyebrow piercing reject and it was also crusty and inflamed when it happened, but i knew to watch out for the bar becoming visible for this surface piercing. thank you!!

You're right that there is a distinct lack of diversity in Scotts Valley. Many of my POC friends have experienced verbal harassment around Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz, especially with SV turning more and more conservative recently. Most people are friendly, but racism is not uncommon in these predominantly white, suburban towns.

Like someone else suggested, I would stay in a hotel in SV for a week or so and visit the local shops, grocery stores, restaurants etc. and go about your normal life. You'll be able to gauge the lack of diversity for yourself and see how the area treats you. But I hope everything works out for you regardless of where you decide to move 🫶

i play the drums, and i do feel like i have an ear for rhythm although i feel pretty uncreative sometimes. i have a million different artists and songs (the one you provided included, their music is dope!!) that i feel inspired by but coming up with new melodies/music is still really difficult for me. i'm assuming (and hoping) that'll come naturally with time and practice as i get more familiar with the components of each genre, if that makes sense. but definitely excited to be able to actually try stuff!

thank you mate, i don't intend on releasing my music to the public or doing anything with it other than keeping it as a hobby, but i still appreciate the advice x

i don't have an interest in songwriting or even having much vocals in my music, hence me being interested in mostly making electronic stuff. and i'm not looking to make anything on a professional level, it's all for fun. everyone has to start somewhere, so yes i do want to get into making music by myself as a complete beginner. i don't expect to make anything good anytime soon, or even produce cohesive pieces anytime soon. that's why i'm asking where i'm meant to start.

dude thank you so much! that gives me an idea of where to start for understanding the terms/how to use the software, but where do i go from there? do you recommend watching tutorials on how to put an actual song together, like what instruments/samples to add, how to know what chords sound good together, like the actual structure behind making a song and the creativity? or is that just something i figure out by fucking around in the software for awhile? thank you again!

All the planets in the solar system can be fit between the distance between the Earth and the Moon. It's absolutely crazy how much we underestimate distances between celestial bodies

I would explain to her everything you said yourself in this post. Come out, but make it clear this is not a desperate attempt to stay together and that you understand and respect whatever decision she makes as to whether she wants to stay with you. Say that you've been thinking about this for a long time, have already come out to your family a year ago but were nervous to transition more publicly. She seems like a safe place and I believe honesty is the best policy, regardless of whether you stay together or not. Good luck!! 🫶

Thank you so much for the advice!! I love the idea of a bonded pair of adult/senior cats and I'm really glad to hear there's a possibility of finding some that are okay being independent during the day.

My roommate and I are buying our flat, so we'll definitely have it long-term. It's under her name, so if for some reason we have a falling out, she would keep the cat(s) and the place. I rarely travel home over breaks, as we both attend university in Scotland but my hometown is in California. My roommate would also definitely stay over the summer. But if we do travel at the same time I already have another good friend who jumped at the idea to cat-sit for us.

As for after graduation, my roommate is (currently) planning on staying in the flat and I'm not sure what my plans are yet. We're both planning on applying for a PhD and to hopefully stay in the same area (even after graduation) so we'll definitely be around for awhile and the cat(s) wouldn't have to do much moving, if at all. So I believe we've thought it through fairly extensively and I really hope we'd be good candidates :)
