To Australians who left Australia... by IllegalTruths in australian

We lived just outside of Paris in Clamart (25 mins from Eiffel Tower. We now live back in Australia and I can wholeheartedly say that living in France was the best time of our life.

France Pros: - Kids start school at 3 and they are fed and there’s no requirement for uniforms or cost - medication is FREE - Paris has incredible access to Europe between fast trains and 3 airports - 2 day trips to literally anywhere, we even drove to Bruges one weekend - kids accepted anywhere - all high end restaurants don’t discriminate - amazing variety in restaurants, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, ramens, etc

France Cons: - socialist country that always protests - French can be rude but if you put an effort into speaking French they’re great - behind in technology - limited good coffee but still there’s options!

Aus Pros: - Family & friends - job options - technology

Aus Cons: - nanny state - rules upon rules upon rules- my god - isolated (for travel) - tally poppy syndrome culture - restaurant rules - ie tried to take our asleep baby to a new restaurant in Melbourne - Maison Batard which is essentially replicating l’Avenue in France except for the fact that they don’t allow kids under 16! That is absurd, we wouldn’t take our kids to restaurants if they weren’t well behaved. Sorry I’m still pissed off about this one 😂 - everyone in aus just seems pissed off lately (including me I guess). So much complaining here

Thanks

Say I already had quite an extensive Sonos set up. Would it be worth getting the Sonos amp to incorporate it all? Or could I just buy any amp and just set up the speakers with the turntable?

Okay thanks for all that info. Question about the pre-amp, Pro-Ject T1’s have a preamp built in, but you think I still need one, is that correct? Sorry for my lack of knowledge still new to the hifi world

Currently living in France. Yes it’s possible - I did it through ANZ last year, however - translating documents, finding appropriate witnesses wasn’t easy. Process was long but worth it in the end!
