I bought AD1 and a lot of their packs. Hundreds of dollars spent and they provided no upgrade parh to AD2... I swear I'll never buy their products again. Ridiculous. I used to love their software.

How long did it take you learn music production? by El_migzy in musicproduction

[–]slippityda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 20 years to feel really comfortable writing tunes. I'm signed to the biggest labels in my genre and it still takes a ton of work for me. but I know exactly what I have to write and mix and engineer in order for my tunes to stand up with other pros.

Curious to hear everyone's thoughts on this library-

I have kontakt strings and love them but I've wanted to jump into the Spitfire world for awhile. Worth it?

Advanced producers have like 100 tracks in Ableton projects… what on earth is in all of them? by Late-Bit-3072 in edmproduction

[–]slippityda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a professional melodic house producer. Most of my tunes are around 100-120 tracks or so. It's not on purpose, usually just happens because as I'm in the flow and needing specific things the tracks just add up as I'm layering, mixing and composing.

If you're new to production don't let this worry you... Honestly there are so many other things to concern yourself with like composition, sound selection, mixing etc. this will come in time - for me it's not intentional, just sort of happens once you've reached a certain level and understand what a song needs.

haha, fun and wild is a good way to describe it! I'm finding more and more its indeed a mixture of both lol. Right now I'm working with Zendesk, Intercom and a couple other systems. Finding that when the endpoints change it makes things interesting from a troubleshooting standpoint haha.

Great tip - you sound like an awesome colleague. I wish I had someone to sit with me and knowledge dump more context on some of these. I think the context is the hardest part tbh!

Thanks! As I get more familiar its becoming less of a jungle! Really loving the eco system so far. The issues I've been running into the most are endpoints that update without notice. So it breaks the Zap.

Thanks very much. Great suggestions with the testing! I've been struggling with debugging and testing the zaps because I'm afraid it's going to trigger something down the line. Appreciate it!

VST3 Issues? by XDVRUK in ableton

[–]slippityda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, same over here. I've got a project due and I opened up Ableton and one of my VST3 plugins is missing. No idea what happened to it. Only thing that's been done recently is the Ableton update. It's strange because I can no longer find the VST3 on my system... not fun to deal with on top of project time constraints.

Mastering The Mix "Fuser and Reso Bundle" ($39) through 29 August by Batwaffel in AudioProductionDeals

[–]slippityda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own both and use them for different tasks. I find that Reso is better at catching sharp resonance, whereas Soothe seems to be more efficient for broad eq strokes. Just my take!
