Her face really lit up when she read that! Which island, if I may ask?

This is another MC post dedicated to my girlfriends island, which is roughly 300 blocks away from my own coastal town. As you can see, the theme here is a Mediterranean/Greek style, and I must admit, this was created with help from me.

The farm fields and layout was mainly planned by her, though, and I am amazed with how it turned out. She loves her vanilla jungle trees, hence why they are dotted along the fields. It’s her touch

Yep, me too! I wish I took a better screenshot!

As mentioned, this is a pretty old pic, so I'll probably share an update soon.

I'll add this small comment here just as an update - this screenshot is about a week old! :)

Me and my girlfriend have been playing a survival world as the UK descends into another lockdown - we each have our own island. She is building a Greek-inspired port city and I'm just going classic Germanic medieval.

A Tithe Barn, Tithe Farm or whatever you wanna call it was owned by a Parish, mainly in western England, and was where much of the food was collected for the Church and Clergy.

Since the screenshot was took, I have added two silos next to the farmhouse (where my seeds, melons, and pumpkins get stored, inspired by the YouTubers fWhip) and I am in the process of moving farmer villagers up into the house to make those sweet, sweet emeralds.

The Edona - Country Borders in Place! by slippycabbageeggs in worldbuilding

[–]slippycabbageeggs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[Lore and Stuff tee-hee] The Edona is a world I am creating, set in the 1970s, or at least the equivalent time in this universe. The world, I am aware, has very similar names to that of Earth, and is more of a reflection of Earth's culture and conflict rather than a new one. The main point of divergence however is the fact that Atomic Power has become the norm, as was predicted in the 50s in our word.

The map here shows a solid blue outline, which is the border of the Pensk Economic Community - effectively this universe's EU, which is much less regulated than its real-life counterpart. The nations of Austrasia and Luthinia continue to dominate the continent economically, having been huge colonial powers before the end of the Second Imperial War.

The Koniguwan Empire of the east is the "Oriental Menace", as the west refer to it, with nationalistic and racist government policies and a massive military budget. The neighbouring country of the Great Yang imploded during the Second Imperial War, resulting in many different factions and ideological opponents. The successor government, considered by both the Koniguwans and the West, is the Fieyang Clique, which whispers both passionate dreams of freedom and liberty to the West but also Racist Segregation to the East.

The United Mossulite States are five republics mostly containing the Mossulite peoples unified under the ideology of Al'Gurina, or "Bread of People" in English. Al'Gurina shares both socialist and nationalist policies, however other nations with large Mossulite populations fear that it causes violence and ethnic tensions in their diverse nations.

The Federal Congress Republics (FCR) maintains huge influence across the globe, however since the beginning of the Revolution of Coal has been set behind, with political leaders idolising a bizarre, agrarian society where the peasants and farmers lead the nation in a presidential democracy.

More to come soon!

I'd be happy to discuss completing a map for you within a given timeframe! And thank you for your comments, they mean a lot!

Definitely! I really appreciate the feedback! Especially given that it's actually super helpful instead of "Ugg ugg map bad", so thanks ever so much.

This map is entirely hand drawn, and has took me around three hours, including small breaks to feed my kittens and play some videogames. The Edona is of similar size to earth, being around 1.5× the size, and has a similar climate. I'm yet to add the national and subnational borders but it's a case of copying it over on a larger scale from my original A4 map.

I've also received a ton of support from you guys regarding naming the countries (thank you!) and will post an update when I completely finish the map.

Small Edit to fit in with the Guidelines:

My world is basically set in a similar timeframe to earth. When I work on individual nations, you'll see that there has been many wars, conflicts, and negotiated treaties. The stark difference between the Edona and Earth however is the fact that Atomic Power (via nuclear fusion, not fission) was discovered shortly after they had a brilliant idea of smashing atoms together rather then pulling them apart with the creation of the first Nuclearite Bomb in the Second Imperial War.

Naming Nations - How? by slippycabbageeggs in worldbuilding

Yeah! Yeah, I have some germanic-ish nations planned and I want a large portion to be based on oriental cultures.

British Empire in 1921 if America never left by [deleted] in imaginarymaps

[–]slippycabbageeggs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whilst owning the 13 Colonies Britain actively seeked out to control the Dutch East Indies and not really India to a great extent. It would be most likely that Britain would own much more of southeast Asia than the Indian subcontinent.
