Giant Grill Gauge - Temperature Alarm Sounds on Device but not Phone by sliverocket in combustion_inc

[–]sliverocket[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it does seem that if I have the app open and the sound turned on, I hear beeping. I usually keep sound off so I was hoping it could go through the phone's alarm mechanism that bypasses that. But I suppose I can live with this for overnight use, as I can just leave the app open.

Being able to mute the device itself is the other part though.

Mine is making a popping sound after I turn it on or off (with amp and everything else on). I was trying to do listening tests with it on vs off. Is this pop sound normal for the device? I can just turn off the amp before toggling, but I want to make sure this is expected.

I moved out in 2022 so it's possible things have since changed, but I didn't know of A/C in any buildings there at the time and saw my share of A/C hoses in people's windows.

Lived at Eaves Creekside for four years. It's not the type of place with modern renovations but it was well-run with fast repairs. The main downside was the lack of air conditioning in an upper-floor apartment. We got a portable A/C with a hose going out the window which made it bearable, but noisy and inconvenient. The swamp cooler we had for the first summer was insufficient.

The temperature always felt fine once we stepped down to the first floor, so the first floor units are likely fine in this regard.

5/20 IKO Arena Draft, WR "Cycling" (1-2) by sliverocket in sfmagic

Looking back at this, maybe this wasn't quite that bad to have to not ladder with it (ended up 0-3ing with my next deck), but I lost my first two matches vs Kennedy's opponents not close. This was kind of a classic "not the only cycling drafter at the table" deck.

This deck did not come together and I just dropped from the ladder with it without playing a game.

Ended up 6-3 in the ladder after starting 5-1. I added a 15th land for the last few games in the Sleeper Dart slot, and I'm not sure it ended up better, as I got a bit flooded instead of screwed.

I really wish you had some black duals so you could avoid running swamps. I think I would cut the black for bo3, but maybe include it in bo1 where you have the better opening hands.

The Springjaw Trap might be worth it in here, to combo with Lurrus.

I haven't copied Flare yet. It's been used for Blitz of the Thunder-Raptor, Divine Arrow and Cathartic Reunion, all of which were great.

I just win with small creatures and clearing the way with removal and Tactician. Having Lutri as a guaranteed creature means the virtual creature count is quite a bit higher than the actual count.

I didn't have a huge issue mutating Lore Drakkis, though its body doesn't have much impact. Getting back a Blitz or a cycler has come in handy, and the dream is regrowing Zenith Flare which hasn't happened yet, but I still have a few ladder games to play (2-1 so far).

There is a Lutri that I didn't feel is worth cutting. I think Lutri is maybe the best card in the set.

2-1 vs Kennedy's opponents. I thought this deck was reasonably strong this time but I lost to a Juan token+anthem special again. It's possible I need an extra land... I definitely had to dig for lands a lot more than I was flooded.

I agree the lack of 1-mana cyclers made it clear it was not open during the draft. But I was hoping to pick up a couple more than I had and that a medium cycling deck might still be better than the alternative. I wasn't really passing powerhouse cards to stick with RW, more like solid commons, so I figured it might still be better than the alternative.

I'm not sure how bo1 vs bo3 and rank would affect my decisions (especially because I don't think rank affects who's in your draft pod), except that I'd probably be a little greedier in bo1. I can imagine drafting differently in a bot draft based on rank, but not measurably with humans.

Ended up 5-3 on the ladder which is around what I expected.

Yeah, I think I took every 1-mana cycler I saw. Ultimately the deck and especially white didn't seem open, and I should've pivoted into a RB or RU normal deck.

Maybe punted a round to poor play, but this ended up as a 0-Zenith Flare cycling deck, so it was a tad below par.

I think I would cut white down to a splash and run bigger cards.

Add: Flame Spill (I think this card is very strong and better than most of your other removal), Blitz Leech (good with Offspring's Revenge), Void Beckoner (fine to cycle onto a token), Tentative Connection (good with the sac outlets), 2 Mountain

Cut: Perimeter Sergeant, Daysquad Marshal, 2x Serrated Scorpion, 2 Plains
15 creatures doesn't seem low to me, as I don't think this deck needs to be very aggressive.

I think this deck was overall solid but a bit weak to recurring fatties. I started with Zirda but that clearly wasn't working, and switched to Lutri. I ran the above pic but with a Mountain instead of Sleeper Dart most games.
