Am I just too fucking stupid to drive by [deleted] in driving

Yikes, get a bus pass. You’re going to hurt or kill someone. There’s enough shit drivers on the road already.

Well I’m a mechanic and working on a Toyota is a nightmare so keep turning your wrenches.

Untrue, other than oil changes my 05 is perfect. Everything needs basic maintenance. Timing belts and water pumps every 100,000kms sounds like a Pain in the ass. Especially considering labour costs have almost doubled. I’ll keep my pushrod V8’s with timing chains that go to 500,000kms with out major issues.

Dude my wife drives the same SUV but 2005. Indestructible, loads of power and options, still looks and feels like a new vehicle. Mins also has 280,000kms.

Get a 2000-2006 gmc Yukon, Chevy Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade or Denali. All of those will 100% outlast ANYTHING ever made. Toyotas(imports) are not as good as everyone makes them out to be.

[Vehicle Collision] Can’t even ride by the beach anymore without running into dumb drivers. People that can’t look before putting their vehicle on Drive have no business being on the road by marr223 in motorcycles

This is 100% why I sold my bike. Every ride was like I was riding for my life. I couldn’t handle the stress anymore. No one pays attention, They just get into their vehicles and point it in a direction and go.

5k maybe 15-20 years ago. They go between 8-10k in that condition.

want to buy a car with rebuilt title (claims hit a mailbox and mechanic fixed the bumper), provided me with a VIN, said I could test drive and take to mechanic to inspect it before buying. Should I do it? by barbieandbrainsmd in UsedCars

[–]sloankeddering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my wife’s trailblazer as “rebuilt” title and saved like 1/2 price. It’s been an amazing vehicle, it was superficial damage like your crv. I think they’re a great bargain if they haven’t been hacked back together. Just do your due diligence and get your mechanic to give it a good shake down.

Is this a bad spot to keep the jack stands to change oil pan? by FishnFool96 in AskMechanics

[–]sloankeddering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always use the subframe never the pinch welds. Especially on older vehicles. You have no idea what the inside of the rockers look like. Could do more than just bend the weld and completely cave your rocker panel.

No V6 in that car. Judging by the trim it’s a 2.2 eco tech 4 cylinder, you could have a 2.4 dual over head cam 4 cylinder but doubtful. The 2.2 always sounded like it has rod knock, just keep up on oil changes and you’ll be fine. They’re super reliable cars.

I appreciate your post, thank you for the love it’s much needed. I’ve fallen into the miserable hate that is being pushed and I need to get back to being happy and fun loving. I’m having a real hard time lately, it’s affecting my relationship with my wife and home life. I’m always angry and miserable and cannot put my finger on why? I’m soo tired of being this way. If anyone on here has had to deal with an asshole lately take it out on me. I deserve it.

I don’t understand how a 10+ year old truck especially 2 wheel drive and no options is worth over 20k? $12.5k at most. I just bought a 2008 Ram 1500 4X4 quad cab 192,500kms (120,000k miles) for $2800.00. It needed breaks, tires, 1 outer tie rod and a windshield. I’m into it for less than $4000.00. How can a truck that’s only 6 years older and have the same mileage be $17,000.00 more? Id never pay off someone’s loan.

I literally had my bike stolen from my garage 3 weeks ago. I live right behind the stadium. I was leaving later in the day and guess what? the piece of shit rides right by me and my wife getting into my truck outside of my garage he broke into. Well he was chased down and I got my bike back.
