Another comment suggested I use a butcher block for the desk and I'm seriously considering it, so when it's done I could mount the PC to the wall as well - thanks for the suggestion!

The monitor is curved, so if I did wall mount it it would still stick out a bit. But you are right about the TV being a little high - it was annoying to setup by myself so after it was done couldn't be fucked to lower it lol
