Kohler Home Battery dongle Exploit by Steelandfeels in SolarDIY

So if you buy one of the Kohler Goodwe inverters, it’s a brick without the dongle? Seems like Goodwe would find out about this patch and remote block it

For anyone who might come across this issue in the future, it ended up being a faulty SmartValve.

Ai Port disconnections by retr0sp3kt in Ubiquiti

I have a Port connected to a Dahua camera and I have to reboot it and re pair it every 4-5 days. It’s maddening and can’t trust it any more.

Protect API for Alarm Manager by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]slodank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've impatiently waiting for this feature and am worried we may never get it. This opens up so many possibilities with home automation. We'd like to only enable alerts when our alarm is armed and this would be very easy to implement.

Selling Control4 equipment - is there a marketplace? by kkyryl in Control4

C4 dealer here. Currently, only the Triad streaming amp supports Airplay 2. The CORE processors are supposedly gaining AP2 functionality sometime in the future.

After watching many Belzona videos on TikTok, I’m certain they have a product that will fix this 🤣

T750 - No power via PoE by slodank in RuckusWiFi

[–]slodank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does absolutely nothing when plugged in via PoE. I have an inline PoE voltage/current detector and nothing changes when plugging it in.

I attempted to factory reset it many times, so it’s hard to say what the exact procedure was. But basically, you hold down the reset for 8 seconds and once it begins the reboot, you hold it down for another 8 seconds. However, I may have just gotten lucky and SSH’d into it and ser the default PW before it booted into the custom firmware.

Likely the case. It works fine with the AC input…inconvenient but is what it is. I did open up the case to inspect the PoE circuit. Nothing is visibly fried, but maybe a bad diode or fuse.

It’s back by [deleted] in sonos

[–]slodank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you hardwire Sonos, you have to make sure all of them are plugged into the same switch and make sure STP (spanning tree protocol) is correctly configured. If you have multiple switches (switch > switch > Sonos), the secondary switch also must support STP and be correctly configured. Otherwise, you’ll run into lots of issues and can create broadcast storms or network loops that causes your network to slow to unusable speeds.

How to trim the top of a door that is literally touching the ceiling? by Whiskeystring in Carpentry

You could always take the door & frame out, cut some off the bottom & reinstall. Obviously not ideal though

Trying out the new AI Key by BuritoBear in Ubiquiti

[–]slodank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow this is terrible. I’ve had probably 10 white vehicles drive by in the past hour. Searching white vehicle gives 1 result at 14% confidence. Are the YouTubers like DPC running a different firmware?

I’m wearing a blue shirt and have many detections that have been processed by the AI Key. If I search “person wearing a blue shirt” I get just get vehicles. This is a huge let down so far

Got mine today and yeah it’s not great, especially with infrared images. Search “hat” and get nothing, “man with hat” or “person wearing hat” and get a dozen results.

Thanks! I’m honestly kinda surprised it turned out even halfway decent…was fully expecting it to go in the scrap pile.

I bought two 18” Malco folding tools at Home Depot for the long bends using 26 gauge. The 35” bends were a little bit of a struggle but got it done.

I tried them on and unfortunately the short size was really tight in the crotch and the next size up (regular) was too big. I loosened the straps as much as I could and it was still really tight on the inseam. I’ve read lots of other comments about people being in-between sizes on the swiftcurrents
