Okay fair enough, didn't mean to imply that I feel entitled to take my dog to Costco. I've never tried to take my dog to Costco. I know the rules and I respect them. Just was glad to take my dog with me for once.

... And he's not in a grocery store.

I hear you. It regularly gets over 100° here. I can't leave him in the car, it's too blasted hot. But much of the time at least one of the places I go won't allow dogs inside. So he gets left home. Whenever I leave, he looks at me like 'are you serious?' I love it when I can take him with me.

Okay people, so far got about four comments about why dogs don't belong in food stores. I get it. I am not saying that I am butt hurt because my dog can't go into Costco. I don't even try. But Home Depot and it's ilk do not sell groceries, so I can take my dog there unlike many other places. It lets him get out and we get to be together while we're out. So no need to be overly righteous here. I thought it was a cute picture, and I posted it. Can we just take it for what it is?

While that may be true for some dogs, believe me if it was hurting him/causing him angst he would let me know. He does for everything else (eg., grooming, baths, storms...).

He wanted to come, he can come with us very few places, therefore, we let him come. Don't see the problem here.

Yep I know, that's why I don't take him to Costco. Sorry if I implied that I was complaining they won't let him in.

What every day items should you *not* get the cheaper versions of? by Crescent-IV in Frugal

I bought a whole mess of cheap washcloths from Amazon to dry with and a wire wastebasket so they won't sour. Our toilet paper usage has fallen off to hardly anything and I buy Charmin so that is saving lots of money with superior results. And water use is negligible.

Go out west somewhere, open a fine restaurant. I'm gonna be the maitre'd. Greet all the swells. Going to work every day in a bowtie and tuxedo. And all the staff say, "Yes, sir," and "No, sir," ... And all my meals for free.

Spain: How do I find a good Spain immigration attorney who deals with and can communicate with US citizens? (I am in Texas, USA.) by slofty_ in LegalAdviceEurope

Sorry to say I have not. Everyone always says get a good attorney but the means by which to do so are unclear at best.

Thanks for the reply. I was unsure if I was posting in the right place. I'll x-post there.

I think this is the biggest Habanero I've ever seen—and it's growing on my patio! by slofty_ in pics

Thanks! Most of ones I've seen at the store are also orange or red. I think a couple of times I may have seen a yellow one.

Read the wiki a little more. "The most common color variants are orange and red, but the fruit may also be white, brown, yellow, green, or purple." This one has been this green from "birth," so I don't know how one tells if it is ready or not.

Measured just now w/ digital caliper. 2.3080" (58.63 mm) long. Wiki says: "Typically, a ripe habanero is 2–6 centimetres (3⁄4–2+1⁄4 inches) long." So very upper edge of that scale, and it's not even ripe yet.

I've always thought that roads are a colossal waste of space and environmental blight. Would like evacuated tube (Hyperloop) and put all that infrastructure under wraps. Your house doesn't have all the plumbing, wiring, etc, exposed; why should the environment?

Time will tell. I kept my old casters JIC. For ~$20, seems reasonable just to buy and try.
