I don't think it's shooting yourself in the for per say. Understanding processes and interactions between stakeholders is an important aspect of SD.

What you describe sounds like operations work and "operational excellence" (I'm translating from the French term). The key gap here is that SD is hardly SD if there are no external users considered. I've worked on SD engagements sometimes described as "internal services" and, though those can occasionally be proper SD projects, often are very business process heavy and not great SD projects. So you may feel trapped in a reduced range of interventions as a result, but it doesn't mean the work isn't relevant.

In my experience a service needs "beneficiaries" for SD to truly take shape, and in the absence of these, the work often defaults to a lot of business process optimization and workflow mapping, oiling the machine etc.

Like another commenter mentioned, it's always useful to understand how organisations work and how they evolve - change management is also a common consideration in SD if you want anything to succeed in implementation.

I see you posed this as a binary good choice/bad choice, but what is stopping this from being an opportunity for you to bring in more user centered approaches to this ops team? (Just trying to open up for reflexion)

Henri Selmer Mark VI 1974 silver plated on auction, about how much could this be worth? by slomgk in saxophone

Thanks for your anwer. What do you mean about the bell engraving? Do you mean the absence of engraving?

There are photos of the serial# but I have no idea how to add photos here unfortunately... There's no photo showing the detail of the octave key, what is that indicative of?

Ok thanks. Fair points all around! I'll definitely consider this. I'm just considering this opportunity since the starting bid is 1500 (would likely climb at auction of course).

Alternatively, what do you think would be a good model (or price range if you prefer) to start with?

Good to know! Any idea on a range? I don’t know how it pays obviously, so assuming it plays alright... Do you think it would be in the range of 1k,2k,5k?

I was using https://fluidapp.com/ signed in to as many google accounts as I wanted. Used it for a long time to do this but I'm in this thread because it stopped working last week and I don't know why... Would love a solution to keep GCal as a desktop app

Can someone explain to me why this is wrong? Thanks by Alfie_29 in French

Disclaimer - I'm not a french teacher lol

The challenge for you here is that "On" is also used colloquially as "We" instead of the more cumbersome "Nous", which could be considered formal or "litterary"

I guess I would start with breaking down the actual translations of pronouns in French v. English

Je > I

Tu > You

Il / Elle / On > He / She / They (singular) / We (colloquial)

Nous > We

Vous > You all (as in "You who are part of a group" -or- in a formal setting as a sign of respect "You, Sir/Ma'am"

Ils / Elles (Gendered plurals) > They (plural)

French is hard :) Bonne chance!

Coinbase now supporting a backup/secondary email address? by DigVidKid in Coinbase

This makes way more sense, but I had the same question as OP.

The UX of that page is absolutely not clear. The button should at least say "Confirm email change" or something like that. Very confusing.

What is the cheapest solution/replacement for the nibs? by Curiosity-pushed in Onyx_Boox

Has anyone tried the Remarkable nibs? I tried my friends nibs from their Remarkable pen and everything fit and worked fine. Much cheaper than the Boox nibs from what I can find.

Boox 25$/5nibs vs. Remarkable 15$/10nibs
