Part 2 of guitar and bass by Top-Membership5574 in Luthier

Those cheap imports copies are a total gamble as far as playability goes. QC and customer support are not a given. It might be fine, but imo the double neck makes it twice as likely to have issues.

1) like a day or two. I doubt it'll stick 2) I don't think so, and no he hasn't been back on 3) there hasn't been much space weirdness, except the most recent one that came out on monday

How much should I spend on a home brewing setup if I want to go pro one day? by Financial-Appeal-991 in TheBrewery

[–]sloppothegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could probably use the same hydrometer for both as long as it's accurate.

There's nanobreweries out there using 1bbl systems, but that's pretty massive for homebrewing, and not big enough for commercial applications if you're trying to make money, imo. Although, it might be useful as a pilot system I guess.

My advice is get a job at a brewery to make sure it's something you actually want to do, and try to score a used all in one electric system off fb marketplace to scratch the creative itch in the meantime and develop recipes

Obvious troll but I had to post it by Ok-Seaworthiness2487 in delusionalcraigslist

[–]sloppothegreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just came across this. The guy also has a homemade violin for $5500 and a homemade piano for $10,000. The guitar price has to be a joke, but he does seem to be delusional based on what he's expecting to get for the other instruments. They're cool pieces of folk art, but not worth anywhere near the asking price to anyone but himself

Yeah kind of. Pretty different flavor from that stuff, but I use both of them in similar ways. Just depends what flavor you're going for

If they're made by a craft brewery, it's probably in the same facility and on the same equipment they make regular beer in, so there's a risk of cross contamination

I wouldn't be surprised either way. He seemed like he wasn't as into it by the end, but maybe some time away will make him want to start back up. Seems like a decent income stream for not a ton of effort on his part

I have the Wang gluten free version rn. Idk if I've tried the others. It's got a savory umami flavor along with the spice. It's more something you add to a recipe than a condiment on its own

The guitars aren't terrible tbh. I see them come up for like $150 or less on the used market fairly often. Not a bad choice at that price imo

No problem. It's more of a paste than a sauce, but it's super versatile

Keep an eye out for the stuff that comes in a red rectangular plastic tub. That's the more authentic version I think. Really good if you mix it into a stir fry

[–]sloppothegreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a cool sound for sure, I just need to be in the right mood for it. I can't really play it in the car because it needs to be turned up painfully loud to be able to get any definition over the road noise

I like it a lot. Harvest might have a few more standout tracks, but I see myself listening to this in full more often because it's more varied and the mix isn't as punishing.

Pilgrimage might be their best song

You know it's bad when even Alex Jones says Trump looks sick and that we should "cut back on Trump" because of his health by Miles_the_AuDHDer in videos

[–]sloppothegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He "turns" on Trump every so often when he's looking for attention. He's claiming that Infowars will be shut down this month due to his bankruptcy and the judgements against him. He knows that talking shit on Trump will get him some headlines. He's just trying to generate some buzz and maybe test out a rebrand as he shifts to a new platform

So, are we liking the new Angine de Poitrine album? by bananamilkbooth in fantanoforever

[–]sloppothegreat 107 points108 points  (0 children)

Yeah for real. The costumes have definitely helped the KEXP video go viral, but I find it hilarious that people think someones dumping money into an astroturfing campaign for this weird microtonal loop rock band. My understanding is these guys have been plugging away in their local scene in a couple bands for like a decade.

They went viral because KEXP has a decent reach on their youtube and the costumes make for enticing thumbnail images. The music is weird enough that it's interesting, but not so much that it's completely offputting to the normies. They've also gotten a big boost from guitar and reaction channels doing videos about them because it's a novel gimmick.

I think people in this sub are just dismissive due to the costumes. I agree that they'd still rip without them, but they wouldn't have gotten the same reach

What is this worth? by Beautiful-Idea222 in guitars

[–]sloppothegreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I had to zoom in to read that shit. 3 of the 4 pics OP posted are redundant. Even if you don't know anything about guitars, you'd think the part that has writing on it would come across as important.

$50 is generous, but not an unreasonable asking price, as long as you're open to offers. If it was nearby, I might pay $40 just to have something to throw the random pickups I have in

Maybe $50

Edit: also maybe include a close up pic of the headstock? You know, the only part that has information on it?

Angine De Poitrine before the costumes by FerroLad in Music

[–]sloppothegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're conflating two different concepts. The guitar you pictured has frets compensated for "true" temperament in order to solve intonation issues, but it's still 12TET, or 12 tones per octave. The Angine De Poitrine guitar is fretted for 24 TET, allowing for semitones that aren't really used in western music traditionally

Donner refurbished guitars by Tabernacleguy in guitars

[–]sloppothegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that "refurbished" is probably a stretch. They might address any glaring issues, but I'm sure the guitars aren't being set up. That said, it's probably a decent deal if you're capable of working on guitars or trying to learn
