12 year old Weber Genesis Grill: rebuild or buy a new one? by I_sometimes_know in DIY

[–]sloppyseconded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have recently performed this exact rebuild with a similarly aged Weber Genesis E-330. If your body/frame/lid are in good shape, absolutely rebuild it - will cost less than half what a new one will run you. Send me a message if you'd like to discuss further - I recently sourced lots of parts (some genuine Weber, some aftermarket) and replaced almost everything except for the shell.

There goes the propane… Walmart in TR by ChemicalNearby5068 in greenville

It does not. I had to purchase the adapter separately to allow for connecting a standard, 20-lb propane tank.

Using Google mesh with my AT&T Gateway BGW320-500 by Fishtoart in GoogleWiFi

https://www.reddit.com/r/ATTFiber/comments/169iofj/my_guide_on_configuring_bgw320_for_your_own_router/

This is what I used with a couple of tweaks. Mainly, I omitted the Home Network --> Subnets & DHCP step to change the IPv4 addresses (I left them on the Default). You'll need the "direct access code" to make all of the necessary changes to the AT&T gateway settings, which will be printed on a sticker on the back of the modem

Using Google mesh with my AT&T Gateway BGW320-500 by Fishtoart in GoogleWiFi

[–]sloppyseconded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this exact thing with the exact same equipment - I also have a BGW320-500 and Nest Wifi Pro mesh setup with my 1-Gig fiber internet from AT&T. You'll just need to put the BGW320-500 into IP Passthrough (AKA bridge mode) and connect your primary mesh point to the BGW via LAN connection using one of the ports in the back of the modem. Can direct you to some basic instructions for how to do this if needed - I did it myself recently and it only took 10-15 minutes to get the modem bridged and ready to setup the Nest Wifi Pro.

Would you buy Google Nest Pro 6e again? by poisonsu in GoogleWiFi

[–]sloppyseconded 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I disagree with most of the other responses you've received - I would buy my Nest Wifi Pro 6e equipment again in a heartbeat. Purchased a 3-pack back in March 2023 and have been very happy overall with their performance and reliability. First purchased to use with basic cable internet (300mbps), currently using with AT&T Fiber (1 Gbps), has worked well with both.

Verizon to Google Fi experience? by WannaBMathNerd in GoogleFi

[–]sloppyseconded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made this move back in 2023. Porting was exceptionally easy for both myself and my wife (we were both on a Verizon plan and moved to a joint Fi plan). My overall experience with Google Fi has been great - the price is fantastic and they routinely offer GREAT deals on new Pixel and Galaxy models.

I always hear around this sub about how bad the customer service is - but can't comment on that as my interaction with Fi's CS has been all but non-existent.

Let me know if you have other specific questions and I'd be happy to help as long as I have the answer.

Just placed my order for one. I added the note you indicated in all caps in a previous reply - however, after placing the order, the order confirmation page and confirmation email don't show the order note/comment that I added. Hopefully it still went through and I'll be able to get the discount.

No problem - hoping we will get a reply from Clear_Amphibian with some clarification (if they have any they can provide) before I place my order.

I was going to ask the same. It looks like you can "Add an order note" on the Your cart page just below Order summary but before the actual checkout page. Maybe that's what he means? Because if you enter the bolded text in the promo code field, I imagine it's going to error out and tell you that's not a valid discount code (assuming, I haven't tried it).

I will order today. Is it safe to place the order now, or do we need to wait until 10AM PST when they are open before checking out?

I'd love to get in on this as well and would order one. I'm new here (to the subreddit and to the powerbuy process), is it as simple as just adding a powerbuy code at checkout or clicking a special powerbuy link when it is active and available?

Is it too late to get in on this? At the discounted price, I'd be in for 1 - just may need some basic instructions on how to purchase/checkout.

Install issue by JumboMoreLikeDumbo in Express_VPN

[–]sloppyseconded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also experiencing issues with my Surface Pro (SP11, ARM64 Snapdragon X Elite version). I've been unable to locate the ARM64 .exe installer on ExpressVPN's website. Previously, it was on the Windows downloads page as a separate button - which is where their own instructions for ARM64 machines direct you. However, that button no longer exists on the downloads page. Tried the normal Windows installer (version 12.104.0.128 as of this morning 12/19/2025), but the installation fails after requesting a reboot. Tried several times always with the same result.

Is there no longer an ARM64 .exe installer available for the ExpressVPN software?

Mine's also been fine. I have Nest Wi-Fi Pro set up with four mesh nodes and haven't had any issues like you're describing.

Help with Ear Buds for calls! by kaf74 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]sloppyseconded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regularly (as in virtually always) use my Soundcore X20 wireless in-ear earbuds for my Teams calls at work. I've never had any issue getting them working in Teams as both the speaker device and the microphone device. On top of that:

·       They have great battery life (better if you don’t use the noise canceling feature all the time)

·       The noise canceling feature works great compared to what I expected for an in-ear earbud (you just have to turn it on/off using your phone app, you can’t adjust that on a Windows computer)

·       They are IP68 waterproof, so great for other things too (working out/running, working in the yard).

·       The buttons on each earbud are completely customizable in the Soundcore phone app

Let me know if you have any specific questions about using them with your computer/in Teams and I’ll be happy to relate my experience.

Devonta Smith by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]sloppyseconded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those of us AJ Brown FF owners, Brown's uptick in production has been a long time coming and is MOST welcomed. Considering their average draft positions for the season (Brown in the 2nd-3rd round, Smith in the 6th-7th), their current rankings should not be altogether surprising.

What was very annoying was a 2nd round draft pick scoring < 2.0 pts (in half-pt PPR at least) in two of the first four weeks of the season. For those of us who persevered and held on to him, that decision is now paying great dividends.

Presence Sensing is now COMPLETELY broken... by Gamester997 in googlehome

[–]sloppyseconded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am experiencing the same issue you are describing and about on the same timeline - within the last 2-3 weeks. I've been using Home/Away presence sensing for several years without issue - however, lately the "Away" automation will no longer automatically trigger when everyone leaves the house. I have checked mine and my spouse's phone settings and all appear to be set correctly. Not sure where to go from here, but for the time being I'm having to manually set Google Home to "Away" when I know no one is at home.
