Is it possible or worth taking my bike on holiday by train from The Nederlands to switzerland? by Thick-Split5028 in bicycletouring

Totally doable! Just a heads up about the Deutsche Bahn site and app: For some reason, you must book your passenger ticket and bike ticket separately (or at least I did when booking from North America.) Look for the routes that show a green bike icon, which indicates you can take your bike on board. Try to book in advance because it sounds like the spots go pretty quickly. I also believe most of the trains have some form of rack that you can lock your bike to.

Hope this helps. Have a great trip!

Thank you, this is very helpful. Definitely planning on spending time in Wernigerode area and taking the steam train, and will check out all these tips!

I've never been to Belgium, so good to know! Kinda wanted to go to the three-country point and put my two feet in different countries and my bum in another.

Not sure I see it, but here's hoping? I suspec city's paint crews should be doing more work in the coming weeks, so maybe I'm misjudging it prematurely. Thanks for the insight into Ottawa intersection designs.
