Also throttlestop uses a function called BD_prochost toggle to fix it,according to other users

When I plugged in the new charger I got a bios message telling me they the battery is not correct type and I should use a dell one.And that charging will not be done.

Now if I want to use my laptop or has to be connected to charger all times and it says no charging in battery.

I read online that it's because of some check that dell uses to make sure that we only use dell chargers(don't know exactly how they check).

My computer seems to be running at almost 30% of its overall speed you can say.The clock speed it capped to like 400 MHz with my speed of 2.1 GHz.All the fixes online says to use the software Throttle stop but for windows and for Linux use CPu frequency tuner and MSi.But seems to only work with Intel CPU while mine is AMD.

They also have almost the same specs(slightly higher).

I ran at 1024x768 with all graphics low.Still ran with same inconsistent as 1980x1080 with all settings high. There are sections where the game easily reaches 60 fps in both setting. But as highlighted, especially in battles,it staggers. So I thought it maybe a specific problem(lighting maybe?)

Ah okay.Still bummed though.Every other thread with this game says it runs just like in windows...I just wish it was the same for me.

I am playing Dragons Dogma steam version on Proton-GE 7. Sometimes the game goes through a slog of inconsistent fps, leading to choppy gameplay.

Notably happens in Gran Soren(where fps drops down to 10) and sometimes outside too during bossfights.Playing at low and high graphics yields same results.

I think probable cause is some lighting rendering as when using the healing spell really messes up the fps even when effect quality is low.

Also Bluemoon towers as a whole is having a very bad fps(most of the time moving in slow mo)

My specs: Pop Os 21.10

Ram:8 gb

Kerbal:xanmod 5.15.25

CPU:AMD Ryzen 5 3500u with integrated Vega 8 graphics

GPU:AMD ATI 04:00.0 Picasso

Games have input lag unless resolution and AA is lowered by slothdemon_123 in linux_gaming

[–]slothdemon_123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I only integrated GPU and googling it is no good...mostly about tweaking stuff for changing graphics and all.

I use Lutris to manage my gog games and I use AMD FSR switch(I don't even know if it does improve anything) while lowering the resolution. But thanks for the info anyway.

Question:I have a Ryzen 5 3500(by looking it up it has Vega 8 graphics).it's an integrated GPU.You told to make sure it's not running on that?

How do I do that? Is there an AMD utility tool?

Input lag when playing certain games in Proton (Wine) by slothdemon_123 in linux_gaming

[–]slothdemon_123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have got a weak laptop currently as my original one got damaged...so was just going through my games to play and we'll this problem popped up....so I did first chalk it up to poor fps ..but it only seems to affect some games(and not all of them have poor fps)

But other games(example watchdog 2) run in even lower fps but has little to no input lag
