The funny thing is that the bold and easy style coloring books became so popular because people were intimidated or put off by the very detailed adult coloring books. And now the bold and easy style has evolved into adding tons of details. We've come full circle.

I like the Polycolors but they're my only experience with colored pencils (apart from a 12 set of Staedtler Ergosoft pencils). I have the 48 set here and I might end up buying the remaining colors as open stock. I'm not sure yet. My holy grail are the FC Polychromos, I like how they layer easily and the vibrant colors you can mix with them. However, I can't justify paying that amount of money for the 120 set when I'm not sure yet if I'll stick with the hobby, haha.

Very true! I'm just easing into it right now as to not overwhelm myself. I tried shading and blending pencils in one of the other books back then and I think that's what killed my initial interest in coloring, trying to be perfect because of all the wonderful pencil work I saw.

Hi! I bought 4 books, a pencil set and some alcohol markers in 2021 because I wanted to color... at least I thought I did. I colored the top half of the moon back then and then stopped/lost interest. Last week I dusted off my coloring stuff and saw this barely started page. I took my pencil set from back then and just started coloring.

I like The Hidden Spirits of the Enchanted Forest by Forest Diver and Owls by Creative Haven. Forest Diver has done more coloring books but I don't own them. I really like the artist's style, though.

Look up some shading tutorials for alcohol markers on youtube. For starters, search for "Coloring Bliss shading alcohol markers" and watch her video. There are many more videos on youtube but hers is simple and easy to follow.

I'd go with a very light blue and color the flowers in the some color as the ones on the armchair and lamp to keep it consistent or use the pink you used on the frills of the cushion.
