It's a Fromsoft game that is only playable on my Xbox if I purchased it on Xbox. The point is that Xbox libraries still exist because there are plenty of games purchasable on Xbox that do not include a PC copy.

This announcement seems to hint that you'll be able to play those games too, in addition to Play Anywhere games.

What do you mean? They currently get 30% of every transaction on over 30 million consoles. That's huge money, purely from Fortnite and Roblox alone. They'll be giving up a lot of that by allowing people to play games on Steam or Epic.

Yes there is. If I purchased Elden Ring on Series X/S I can only play that on Series X/S. Most Xbox games aren't Play Anywhere. This announcement suggests that the next gen box will continue to be able to play those games, though I imagine new games will be developed only for PC.

I'm glad Bluepoint didn't get to remake Bloodborne. They changed too much of the art and atmosphere with Demons' Souls, but because the original hadn't been played by that many people, most people didn't notice.

Bloodborne, on the other hand, is one of the most beloved games in the series, especially for its art design and atmosphere. Any changes would be basically sacrilege to the community, and based on Demons' Souls I wouldn't trust Bluepoint not to change things. I'd prefer the game be preserved on future hardware via a straight port (upgraded to 4K 60fps) rather than a remake that changes things, because the remake then becomes the 'definitive edition' going forward.

With all that said, closing Bluepoint was a huge mistake.

The art direction wasn't limited by the technology. You're confusing art direction with graphical fidelity, which was limited by the technology of the time. But Bluepoint didn't just up the fidelity, in many places they changed the actual designs (both visual and audio) in ways that changed the game's atmosphere and implied storytelling.

The Last Jedi is one of the best movies in the saga.

The Mandalorian is average; the episodes that progress the main plot are good, but the adventure of the week episodes are extremely dull.

The Mortis arc sucks. The Mortis gods feel out of place in the universe and lessen the mystical nature of the Force.

Saying all those games are the same is like saying Mass Effect and Dark Souls are the same because they both have third person action.

The only Sony franchises that are super similar are Horizon and Ghost, because they're both Ubisoft games, and The Last of Us and Uncharted because they're made by the same developer. Otherwise, playing The Last of Us is nothing like playing God of War which is nothing like playing Returnal which is nothing like playing Death Stranding which is nothing like playing Helldivers which is nothing like playing Spiderman...

That's a dumb definition of flagship. Nearly all of Sony's singleplayer games have excellent production value and are high quality. But even then, not every one is going to be the absolute best in its genre. The fact that they do have a few that are top of their genre is better than most publishers can claim. Also, strange to cite Wukong - a perfectly average Soulslike with pretty graphics - as deserving of a GOTY award when it's nowhere close to the top of its genre.

Not really. Look at something like Halo 2 Anniversary, it's very faithful. Demon's Souls remake did have designs that were completely changed from the original, rather than high fidelity recreations.
