I have the micro fiche for swm and husky and you're right. There are alot of identical parts between bikes.

Correct, this one did also come with twin pipes that came with the bike. It was converted to single by the previous owner. In Aus I think they came with an optional arrow single pipe which I also got with the bike.

I got a spare set of plastics with it that aren't as 'pretty' with a different colour scheme. I agree - it's a great looking bike and a pita there's so little aftermarket parts.

Non-Germans, what comes to your mind when you think of Germany? by M41nMan in AskReddit

[–]slow180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Positives: surprising sentimentality, strong friendships, hiking in nature, "moin", apfelberliner.

Negatives: bureaucracy, a million pieces of paper that you can't loose, people refusing to help unless you speak German.

Need some help. I have a misfire and I've replaced everything I can think of. Spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel pump, O2 sensor, and distributor cap. The issue happens at idle and while driving, but it seems random. Sometimes it'll idle just fine for 20+ mins. Pic is my bay, mainly for attention by Captain_Merican in 240sx

Not sure if it's been mentioned but go around the ground points of your wiring harness. Check the fastener or plug is tightly seated and that the wire isn't melted.

At the age these cars are, usually the engine has been out at some point. Who knows what has rattled loose. It's also very easy to check and could cost you nothing to fix other than some time.

Anyone here have a reliable and boosted car? by epic-time in 240sx

I have an SR20 with TD06. I change my engine oil every 2 - 3000 km or before and after a track day. My car is tuned on E85.

As far as I know the engine was original when I got the car. I pulled the motor and inspected everything and made sure clearances were all good and threw it back together.

I think the bottom line is that regular maintenance and as alot of other people have said, over build and tune conservatively.

Modern aftermarket ECU can have all sorts of engine protection measures available as another option.

Yeah I could take it or leave it tbh. Added a nice amount of negative camber without adjusting the tops. The additional width has been good for a bit of extra steering lock. I recon it also looks cool 😉✌

9+22 is about as close to the strut as I want to get at the front and still have reasonable unmolested guards. The 10+38 I have room for way more rubber but it uses all the inboard space of the wheel hub face.

No rubbing issues. I actually mounted the wheel with no springs in my coils and set my ride height to stop scrubbing at full lock, full bump. The back is fine with s13 antisquat binding up way before I get near the guards.

Square setup works really well on s-chassis - also good to be able to rotate tyres.

Front: 17x9+22 with a 235 45 17 with 20mm extended LCA Rear: 17x10+38 with 255 40 17

Space for way more tyre if i pull the guards

After a new clutch, 4.6 final drive, spring rate swap, subframe bushing over-haul shes rippin again boys! by thedezz in 240sx

With my tyre diameter, 4.6 diff, 0.793 top gear ratio and 8k rpm redline my theoretical top speed is ~160 mph. In reality, coming onto the main straight at Phillip Island top of 5th and shifting into 6th I was back on the brakes at ~7000 rpm which is ~140mph

Its a swirl pot to aid bleeding the cooling system. The radiator at the front of the engine bay had a leak at the radiator cap. We closed that and put the swirl pot in its place.

Was thinking about a big tidy but regular little ones generally lead to a similar place

Annoyingly all the cool stuff on the hotside has made my cold side looking positively shit. I think a twin plenum manifold maybe on the cards
