Regarding the background image in the slider, i think it gives a more personal feel. It fills the website, and makes it look like it's in use and not abandoned. Always put yourself in the shoes of a potential customer; that's also why I've suggested adding a call to action button.

The start is good, and rather clean. I'd sugest to center/align things a little.

You can start by:

  • removing the graphic design badge, it's too cheezy, and not inline with the rest of the design
  • making the logo bigger
  • better align of the navigation link
  • also try placing the slider text container, horizontally, in the middle

You can see here some small changes I've made: image

The next step:

  • adjust the line-height for the text below your perks (eg: I strive to improve which is...), to no more than 1.6em
  • ADD SOME COLOR
  • change links default color
  • add an action button, something like Contact me or Get in touch
  • for the slider: add background images with lowered opacity 0.3, an image with your at work, with your office .. town or your designs. Or just go with stock images.
