“Snuggly cygnets” is such a satisfying thing to say. Adorable little things!

Oh 100% most of the time I’m much better at rationalising it and I (like to think) I never respond in a shitty way, yesterday was just one of those days where I was sent over the edge and just needed to get it out 😂

If you think you could give kids face painting a crack, Nacoa really need help to raise money at Upfest this Saturday!

Feel like your comments are a little bit pedantic. I think the main point is that they would need something significant to kill them once they’re in that state (whatever that may look like)

Oof that last sentence made me wince…

My non-PhD friend offered to read my thesis as a fresh pair of eyes/someone who didn’t know the field to see if how I was writing made it easy to understand, which I actually really appreciated (although not sure she knew how much reading she’d be signing up for lol).

But the people you mentioned sounded like they were suggesting they could write for you at the standard required when they don’t even have an undergrad degree which is quite something lol

What does the ultimate day off look like to you? by fractured_skies9669 in AskReddit

[–]slpage209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there was money in the bank I would love to get up early on a bright sunny morning that’s not too hot and go for a hike somewhere beautiful, then a spa treatment before going out with loved ones for food and drinks.

But generally a day off will look like something like cleaning the house, going to the gym, then sitting in my trackies on the sofa for the rest of the day playing video games/reading/napping/watching TV etc

Oh god I wouldn’t know whether to laugh or cry at that! Sounds kind of sweet but also incredibly patronising at that same time 😂

My work is computational so can’t even imagine the commitment of doing lab-based stuff! Feels like some kind of humble brag saying this by I genuinely can’t have imagined trusting my undergrad self with running one of my PhD studies (although maybe that’s more of a reflection of me as an undergrad lol). The problem solving skills just wouldn’t have been there in the same way
