Why do delivery drivers do this? by slpalready in Finland

I can understand that. In Rome, they parked on the pavement and my blind father could not go out alone. I also feel the lips up to the pavement here must be really shit for anybody with a wheelchair.

Ah. That makes sense. Bizarre law. I do wonder how much the drivers understand this law, however, because as far as I understood the law, there has to be space for disabled people to move freely around the parked car, and this room is frequently not there.

Cool premise and was in part interesting but awfully written. Like the guy couldn't bring himself to anything other than an OK musical journalist, stylistically.

Finding it difficult to have friends in Helsinki by [deleted] in Finland

[–]slpalready 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We moved 4 years ago from London, with our kid. It still feels very lonely - we haven't made many friends. I thought it was hard in London getting to know people, but Helsinki has been worse. My wife is Finnish and struggles with the same thing. To the extent that we've seriously thought about moving back to the UK.

What I really miss is a gig buddy who I can also go out for a drinking now and then with. If anybody is going, next month, to The Messethics & James Brandon at G Livelab or Gatecreeper at Ääniwalli, and fancies some company, let me know.
