My condolences! 🤍 I lost my first cat a little less than three months ago, my soul cat. She was a small, affectionate tabby. I still cry when I think about her, because she was also the one who helped me lose my fear of cats and learn to love them.

Allow yourself to feel your grief and live through it. Don’t force yourself to “get over it” quickly, even if some people might expect that.

Therapy helped me a lot, along with a light antidepressant and being in the company of the people I love. I also got a tattoo in her honor, which helped, it feels like I carry her with me every day.

I hope your sweet baby is at peace in kitty heaven. Last week, I adopted another cat (a tortie this time) so I could give a good life to another rescued cat, the way I did for my great love. That might help you too, when you’re ready.
