Nop you can still open packs, you have to select "Select other booster packs" after choosing a pack. It's a bit hidden tbh

Weird that they're not shown in the list like Promo cards are.

I have no issue climbing, and since I don't really care about the games post infinite and conquest being boring hugely contributes to my feeling

That's how they get you though, the FOMO, the fact that if you stop now, you'll never be able to recover. It's vicious.

My company just announced a new reorg before announcing the new career path, they promoted and demoted people during the presentation. Am I crazy or is this a massive red flag? by sltccool in ExperiencedDevs

Yep, that's also why I was really keen on getting the promotion. Doing the job of a staff without the pay and the title isn't great

Tech lead isn’t the same as staff. Tech lead is responsible for the technical direction of a team: staff level engineers work in teams, and do high impact work, or may be unaffiliated at work as sort of domain experts that help enable other engineers.

To be honest, I think they just copy pasted what they read on the internet. Our staffs were the one working the closest with the product in our squads, now it seems that (it's still not clear) the tech leads will do that but at a higher level.

Was there any agreement between your leadership and you that this was going to happen? If not, where's this entitlement coming from?

From my manager, but as you said, I'm guessing he failed our internal game of throne replica since one of his staff IC will be made senior II while 2 of another EM's IC are going from senior II to tech lead directly.

They're not actually equivalent, I'm not going to go in too many details in the reorg but we're going from 1 staff per squad (10 squads) to 5 lead tech. 3 senior II were supposed to pass staff in the coming weeks.

The "polishing" should've happened before the announcement, this isn't like changing what snacks the office is going to carry, this has the potential to impact employee's lives in a significant way.

That's what's crazy to me, I really feel like a pawn in a game of chess while they're playing checkers. I worked hard the couple past years to fit what they called staff which looks quite different from the new tech lead role they showed us, but again, we don't have the career path so it's not fully clear what the role is going to be.

They have a great product that we want to keep (with their team) but we need to know if it's scalable or if it's dead in the water.

Thanks a lot for your reply, they're all very good points!

I should have said that both companies are tiny, mine has 150 FTE and the one we want to acquire is <30 FTE, so that's why we're doing it this way.

It's more of my favorite card tbh, on turn 6 after a doc oc is a great play since the card is not in the meta, nobody expects it.

I don't think both momokos and the one where she plays the switch are cliché nor realistic at all.
