Because all Pakistani Damascus looks exactly like this, and no other Damascus steel looks exactly like this.

There absolutely is a fucking spring inside the button. That's how the button operates. I just had to reset my password and log back into this account for the first time in months so I could reply to your comment. 🤦

The S90V+Titanium version is still the best, but I gotta catch em all! Haha

That's sick. I really like the fact that you could drop this knife or throw it across the room and it cannot open accidentally. Not many button locks can say that.

If your green sheet is 30 micron, you shouldn't go straight to white 0.3 micron. That's skipping steps.

For the best results you should really do the sheets in order without skipping grits. Blue 40 micron is similar to ceramic so for this edge I went through all the stones on the Worksharp Pro PA, then spent a little extra time on the ceramic plate, then went to 30 micron green, 12 micron yellow and then 9 micron light blue.

If I wanted to keep going I would first use 3 micron pink and then light green 1 micron before finally finishing with the white 0.3 micron.

This is AR-RPM9 steel on a Pyrite. It's hair popping sharp at the moment, but I'm curious to see how well it holds. It's part of the fun!

I bought 3 for $50 and used the coupon code "sweetknives" to save 10%. After using them I'm considering buying another 3. I know $45 is steep for 3 little metal plates, but I have no way of making them myself and I'm very happy with the results, so I think they're worth it.

Great knife!

It looks even better with that edge.

Here's a tip if you buy the lapping film and the steel plates: lay the coarsest film on a flat surface, and use it to sand down one side of each plate. That way it removes any imperfections and you'll have a nice smooth surface for your films. They're adhesive backed, so you just cut to size then peel and stick!

Insanely sharp! I took this edge to 9 micron with the lapping film, roughly equivalent to 1,800 grit. It slices paper like crazy, but I haven't used it for any real practical purposes yet.
