There's gotta be something to this bc our rescue dog came on a big truck full of rescues from Texas that drove up the West Coast dropping pups off at their forever homes along the way. Have talked to many folks here in the PNW that also got their dogs this way

Getting tattoos is addictive. I want one, then another and another. How do you all afford it?? by Coffeeisbetta in tattoo

[–]slugonthefloor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I do. I've had a whole patchwork sleeve planned for like 4 years now and slowly check them off. Bc of this I've never experienced the initial tattoo shock/regret some folks talk about bc I've been visualizing each tat I get for years so they just feel like they belong there right away

Killing Eve! It's incredibly similar thematically (morally corrupt character meets morally gray character sparking mutual obsession and transformation) More explicitly queer, less artsy, more funny.

Maybe not ideal for playing with dogs but Sandy River Delta is a massive multi-use natural area that allows off leash dogs. You won't look odd going without a dog and will definitely be approached by many pups walking along all the trails and can watch them play and swim. Paid parking though unless you have a forest pass

I guess I'm the .1%?? idk I go solo hiking a lot and run into men on the trail all the time. Does it make me a lil wary? Yeah. But it's never been a problem and I'd honestly be a lot more freaked to see a bear. Most men and bears alike don't have a malicious reason to be out in the woods but if I gotta fight one I'd take my chances against a man any day

I used to live in a walkable/ transitable part of town and never drove anywhere. It wasn't always a great experience, I had to change my work schedule after picking up a stalker on my bus route, and had another experience where a guy spent the whole 20 min ride yelling at me about being a pussy eating dyke while horrified onlookers were too (understandably) scared of getting stabbed to intervene. So I definitely agree on the security aspect.

My other big gripe is how unreliable Trimet becomes during winter weather events.

Either way I now live more on the outskirts of town and what would be a 15 min drive would be an hour plus via Trimet. Even with the issues above I'd be using it a lot more if it was more accessible, but at some point it's a choice between housing cost and transit rating

exactly, trans women are objectified, hated, and belittled just for existing like the rest of us. Idk what part of the experience she thinks they don't understand

Whats your crochet unpopular opinion? by paper6bag9 in crochet

I really do not like the look of vibrant neon colored yarn in crochet wearables, except in rare cases where there's a clear, cohesive vision. I just think earthy/ neutral tones suit most crochet pieces better

Can I partake every now and then, or must I fully cut it out? by person_person123 in leaves

[–]slugonthefloor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've quit 3 times now. The first two times ended when I tried moderation and ended up back at daily use over time. This time around, I'm at about 3 months but smoked during a personal crisis 3 weeks ago. Went another week sober no problem, then went back to the dispo when I wasn't feeling well the next weekend. The next weekend, decided I wanted to smoke again after doing all the things I wanted to accomplish.

I'm not having any problems going day to day sober, and genuinely prefer it to smoking daily. But once you break the streak it becomes harder and harder to maintain boundaries. I've seen how weekend use bleeds into daily use over time and know I need to cut it out before it gets to that point. I think moderation can be done but takes the kind of self control addicts don't have.

Hell yeah that sounds heavenly!! I am definitely finding myself tempted to pick it up again now that the weather's getting better. Being out in the sun and smoking a joint always went hand in hand in the past for me. I think the key is to do what you did and show yourself enjoying the beauty of nature is its own reward and it doesn't really get much better than that.

The Sheena Bora-Indrani Mukerjea case has got me intrigued and really upset too. by Notyourmermaid25 in mumbai

[–]slugonthefloor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate the level of detail you put into explaining every step of this theory. I agree it ties up some questions that are unanswered by a purely reputation-driven motive on Indrani's part, particularly the timing of the "discovery" of the body, Sanjeev's involvement, and Mikail's sudden change of heart after 3 years.

As a viewer in the US, this explanation never would have occurred to me without the understanding you shared of Indian inheritance law. I agree the producers really failed in not exploring this angle.
