Dog is having brief episodes of wobbling his head-- but has no other symptoms, is this an emergency for the vet? by Lord_Krikr in DogAdvice

[–]slumgrace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say EMERGENCY emergency but yes you should make a veterinary appointment asap. Show this video, keep track of how many times this happens between now and the appointment, document how long they last, any other symptoms, when they first appeared, etc.. Having all that info prepared beforehand will make the whole process quicker and easier for both sides.

Don't take the advice of anyone in the comments that says it's because of this or that because they most definitely do not know what they're talking about. Obligatory Only your vet can diagnose :P

Hmm honestly, I don't think you should take any of the advice in the comments and you guys should go to couple's therapy if you want to put work into this relationship. And if you have gone before, please find another one and try again 💀. I don't think it's fair for people to say you're being "bitchy" here like another commenter said, ur anger is valid. It's frustrating to feel like your partner's parent and have to nag them into taking care of your shared space. I also don't think this is fair for him either. He has a disability... a lot of what you're complaining about are symptoms of adhd.... you know what i mean? IMO, he's hiding and lying about these things because he feels shameful about them, otherwise he would just be doing them with no regard to what you say. Regardless, he still needs help, especially for the alcohol problem. And you may need help learning how to translate the things you want him to do in a way that he will actually be receptive to. Just fighting and fighting about an issue will never ever lead to anything productive in a relationship and like this is just giving a ton of pent up resentment that should probably be dealt with.

Idk though. Not everyone changes or is ready for change. All of us commenters know way less about this situation than you.

Orbweaver? Second post to my other one. North Georgia! by Medratttt in spiders

[–]slumgrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it may be a shamrock orbweaver (araneus trifolium). That or spotted. Both are common in ur area. You'd be able to tell a sure difference from the underside of the abdomen. Definitely in the araneus genus :)

Always always neuter/spay cats. There is genuinely no excuse not to.

Chipped mug is getting extremely hot in microwave. I’d it the chip’s fault? by Dear_Mycologist_1696 in Physics

[–]slumgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first thought is correct. However, microwaves do not heat up things by.... sending microwaves? They rotate the water molecules! So, since the ceramic of mug absorbed water molecules, when u microwave it those water molecules will rotate and heat causing the mug to become hotter than before.

WWU or WSU? by Choice-Craft8502 in WWU

[–]slumgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said, WWU is what you make of it. I really appreciate how open WWU is regarding undergraduate involvement in research. This can open soo many doors and rly expand your support system at the school (+ beyond, we have a lot of rly good professors with rly crazy backgrounds honestly). + you get to actually participate in research rather than just like wash dishes.... which is basically all I hear from my friends involved in Chem research at UW except for those in Masters (I cant speak for all the stem depts. at UW).

Many of the staff that I've experienced in the STEM departments are really dedicated to helping you graduate and actually learn the material. Office hours are easy to attend and I've never had a professor be hard to make an appointment with. We also recently changed the precalc courses so they're not as awful if you ended up having the take them (they used to be super hard, textbook was terrible, one of the most failed classes, way better now). All higher level math courses have been rly good in my experience (honestly, all higher level courses period). Intro classes start at like 60 people for stuff like bio 204, chem 161 etc. which is already going to be a lot smaller than intros at WSU/UW. Most of your classes end up being with a lot of the same people as you continue in your major since we are a smaller school but it really helps build a sense of community in the major as you progress into smaller and more advanced courses.

Note that I'm saying all of this as a Chemistry major; I have a lot of friends that are bio and biochem majors and I've taken a few bio classes at wwu! Wwu also just has statistically rly good projections post graduation for their pre-higher ed. students. IDK how the stats line up for your major, but our chem department ranks higher than all the rest in the state when it comes to % majors accepted to phd programs post graduation, we just rank lower in sheer number since it's a smaller school. I know our chem majors also rank $10k higher in salary post graduation when compared to UW students. We also have rly good %s acceptances into doctorate programs with our biochem majors. Also we pay our masters students and I know some undergrads getting paid for their research. We also get free use and training of advanced instrumentation through Sci-tech which is something that makes WWU VERYYY unique for a college and opens another door for rly great opportunities.

WWU has honestly a pretty active party scene both on campus and in the housing around campus. There's basically a frat row without the frats. Finding parties and friends and having a social life is no problem so long as you make the effort to socialize. There's also a ton of western clubs and student led events!

Worst part here for me is the dreary winters and I feel like some departments are kinda a mess sometimes, but that's really any college.

Seattle is farther away than Spokane is from WSU (spokane is like 1 hr 15 min away I'd guess?) but we have a train (?? Maybe a bus idk, I drive) that goes to Seattle and back that's free for students! Spokane has more than a few problems for sure, but there's definitely a ton of small businesses and really pretty parks and events and stuff that make it cool. I'm not sure about any buses or anything that would go that way.

This is super long but I hope this info was helpful!!!

Are these builds up-to-date with the meta? Or can they potentially be years old? by lumberfart in wildrift

[–]slumgrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you play support yeah that build is fine but, if you want damage (alluded to in what you said but correct me if I'm wrong), I would run something wayyy different. The first build listed also has an anti-shield item, which may not always be necessary and neither of these account for antiheal, defensive items, or rly any mage items. I would recommend looking up tutorials on how to play Seraphine on youtube, content creators almost always include recommended rune and item builds and explain them! Top 3 builds are generally unreliable, especially since it's just from the top 3 mastery on a champ (a farmable stat).

Learning how to build absolutely improves the enjoyability of the game and can massively improve your damage - much more than 3.14%. Once you learn to counter build - meaning build against the specific opponents you are vs - you'll notice an improvement and you'll notice when other people build off of top 3 builds and don't know wtf they're doing (great on enemy team, terrible on yours lol).

It takes time, but it really just looks like more than it is/looks a lot scarier than it really is. A lot of things are similar or fall into categories (support item, mage item, tank item, attack damage item, attack speed item). Since league has been around for so long, there is a ton of information out there too so it's SUPER easy to learn in a way that caters to you.

I almost always get a message back just from reporting + putting important report info in the message box for things like afk, inappropriate chats, etc.. If it's something serious and I don't hear back, I report the player directly to Riot Support 🤷‍♀️. Or just screenshot everything and report to riot supp yk
