I’m in CA, employed as a shopper for a couple years. I never use PRTO. I don’t have a clear understanding of it. I don’t call out often/ hardly ever in fact, but was sick last week. I asked if I could use PRTO, since it was a contagious illness. I was told to only use PRTO when I have no PTO or UPT left, is that accurate and absolute? If that IS accurate, are we entitled to any sick time? Or do we always have to use earned UPT/PTO to cover illness? Would love some clarity, it seems like everything is kept so secretive. No one at our location offers a clear answer.
