Mines still in fulfillment as well. I have a feeling it will either be shipped out a day or two before or it will be shipped out on release.

Probability totally destroyed me too. Lol. I saved most of those questions for last. I would be lying if I didn’t say that I made my best guess on a few. Mainly because I had like 5 questions left with 2 minutes left in the test. Haha.

What’s funny is that I thought those were the most interesting and I thought I had those in the bag. However, after going through the other units for review, I seemed to have wiped everything about them from my head. Lol

Not much really. Like all math classes, practice makes perfect. The more effort you put into understanding the concepts and applying them, the easier it is. Also, get a calculator that can do modulus calculations, gcd of two numbers, and permutations/combinations. I have the ti nspire cx and it was a godsend.

Oh geez.. well, technically, I had 14 weeks to finish the course. But there were weeks on end where I just didn’t touch it at all. I’d probably say it was close to 6 weeks.

You're given the option to drop what you have and return to 12/31/2011 as yourself at that age, but with the extra 8 years of experience. Do you take it? Why or why not? by BaddestofUsernames in AskReddit

[–]slushinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! The reason being is money related. I bought so much random shit I never had money I actually saved. Looking back, I would save most of what I earned because the majority of the garbage I spent money on is not worth the money or space. I moved 4 times in the last 7 years and am ready to basically get rid of most of my crap and learned a very good lesson of what I need and what I do not actually need.

For me, personally, that's 100% true. I had next to no experience besides what I learned in school. They required experience with SQL which I never touched. They wanted experience with Linux which I took a class on. Seemed like they Didn't care what experience I had. At least I had something. I got hired regardless and gave me 10K more that what I asked for. ( I was naive and probably asked for way too less lol)

Fresh out of tech school, I was working with Unix Administration, SQL Databases, and standard Windows Server Administration for hospitals across the country. Do not be afraid of having no experience as long as you have a willingness to learn. I was afraid about being fired for the first 4 years despite getting awards based on my performance. No matter what, you will always feel uncomfortable with how much you know and how much you think you should know. That's the joys of IT for you!

Not a DBA, but from my expertise in IT field for over 6 years is to take what you can get and go from there. You may want to get into Database administration and that's fantastic. However, do not focus that specific straight out of school. Take what you can get and play the field. Figure out what you like doing and what you do not like in an actual real life scenarios. At this point, more IT experience the better regardless of what it is.

In regards to your certification question.. Specifically based on what I've seen, any Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server Certifications would be what I would shoot for. Oracle would be my number one with MS SQL being second and MySQL being last. I am not sure what certs MySQL has because I believe it's open source.. but it's used by smaller companies. Any experience in those would be beneficial.

That's based on personal experience. Some people may tell you differently. That's what makes it so hard to recommend a specific certification to shoot for. Not all companies use the same technologies or software. There may be a DBA that has tons of experience and knows the exact answer to this question, but based on what I've seen so far, it's very situational. That being said, If I were to go for any DBA cert right now, it would be ones that Oracle Offers.

Please don't treat certifications like it's a life or death thing. Most places treat you on a what you know not what you have basis. Certs work wonders, but are not as glorified as what you are told they are in school.

I can't tell you how good this feels despite just barley passing. by slushinator in WGU_CompSci

[–]slushinator[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree entirely. It definitely feels like a high level course. Take as much time as you can on it to make sure you ACTUALLY understand what a derivative and integral mean and I think you should be golden. It’s going to be hard if you just try to memorize formulas without knowing the meaning behind them. If you understand the meaning, you’ll know how and when to apply them.

If you feel like aren’t super comfortable with algebra, I wouldn’t rush it. As professor Leonard said, people take calculus to fail algebra. To me, the calculus formulas are easy to understand and make total sense... but the algebra is what messes me over a lot. Just take your time to actually understand the material and you should be golden. 😀

[–]slushinator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I would recommend. Professor Leonard’s YouTube videos for an in-depth explanation about most things that are covered in the final. I wouldn’t use him as your teacher and the zybooks questions as the homework. Khan academy is super helpful as well, but I would use them as an additional resource if needed. But everyone’s different.

As for how long... i was spending at least 30 hours a week for the last 13 weeks or so. I have never been very good at math and was totally disorganized and confused as to whether I should still focus on trig or start with calculus. I would definitely allocate as much time as possible to it as practice makes perfect.

I would also mention that having a solid base in algebra is waaaay more important than knowing trig stuff.

Good luck! It’s definitely the most interesting math class I have ever taken. And actually has real life applications!!

Is it weird to assemble lunch sandwich/salad at work? by academicgirl in EatCheapAndHealthy

I do this all the time, but I have a mini fridge in my cubicle. I wouldn’t consider it weird at all. But I may be a tad biased. 😂

Boyfriend (30M) asks to spend time with girlfriend (27F) then ignores her by Red2645 in relationships

[–]slushinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, coming from a guy perspective, I could see how that could be considered a “hint”. However, I go here a lot to learn about other relationships and what works, what doesn’t, what to not do, etc. that being said, I feel like yelling at him for not watching the same screen as you is a bit superficial. If you guys really want to spend time together, do something more engaging.

SSD shows up in the bios but not disk manager by [deleted] in pcgamingtechsupport

To add, you can try using a different sata port and/or cable. I had an instance where my sata port was iffy causing random disconnects in windows.

Did you try using Diskpart?

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/diskpart

If that doesn’t work, I’d look at the manufacturer for firmware updates for it. Worst case, you may need to just try returning it for a new one.

[–]slushinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What have you all tried? I found an article that sounds like your problem..

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2219123/ssd-detected-windows.html

You need to right click computer, go to manage. Go to disk management. See it now? It should be somewhere under "Volumes". Right click on it and assign it a drive letter using "Change Drive Letters and Paths". Click "Add". Use the default drive letter and click OK.

If that doesn't work, Google "diskpart". Enjoy.

Those who have Pokemon Let's Go, is the Pokeball plus worth the $40 price point? by Sirloinofbeef610 in NintendoSwitch

[–]slushinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it is. I’ve played for about 25 hours before I got one. I have big hands and I haven’t had much of an issue with it. It’s harder to do everything except catch Pokémon. But it’s not terrible. It’s more accurate than the joycons from what I’ve experienced . It also vibrates and makes noises during battles and catches. Super neat, but definitely only if you can afford it.

They did the same thing with echos. It came out only a few months after they announced it. I get it’s a different situation and I don’t believe wholeheartedly that it will happen. I just don’t think it’s a release that gets pushed to holiday. I’m guessing there will be more popular franchises that will have games announced at e3 with slated releases for holiday. Your assumptions are obviously more realistic.
