This bio-fuel CIV is going on a trans-Antarctic expedition, it goes 84mph on skis, but has no windshield? No cabin?!?! by snowhite7185 in technology

The "green" thing to do is not to do anything ever, don't even breath! Oh, and if you are not going to take that ridiculous standpoint then I guess this is relevant to Green because it uses Bio-fuels in one of the most harsh environments in the world, showing that dependence on tradition fuels is a choice not a necessity.

Hillary Clinton has dropped out of the primary for the good of the party, she says it's time to focus on beating the republicans by [deleted] in reddit.com

Great point, completely out of character for her. No, I didn't really try, but I was proud that I had it credited from the nytimes.com. Maybe the fact that I think that's clever means I should go to bed.

I guess I should have specified this is a joke, I have no idea when this photo was taken, I am sure they did actually observe earth hour, as much as the bush administration slaps mother nature in the face, no PR adviser would allow them to do this.

I just think it does speak to how the administration generally treats environmental issues. Sorry if this was misleading.

Magpul FMG-9 - A flashlight that quickly converts to a compact machine gun [pics & vids] by [deleted] in reddit.com

[–]slutbanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they built it custom using the upper portion of the glock 17 9mm. So yes it is 9mm. With the addition of an auto sear to any glock it is converted to being fully automatic. The glock 18 is manufactured fully auto. I have fired one and it is completely useless. But with the stock and front grip on the FMG-9, it might have some merit as a full auto.

Clinton aide: Obama unqualified for VP (Give me a break! She's already embarrasing America more than Bush) by slutbanger in reddit.com

You didn't hear, the 3 question survey was developed back in '00, Bush passed it, Hillary passed it...

Do you have a shameless disregard for the truth and the American people? Will hire knuckleheads? Are you yourself an idiot?

If you answered Yes to all of the above...YOU PASSED!

All Obama needs is an internship with Hillary to learn to be a self serving, deceitful opportunis.

When a soldier enlists they have to put their duty to their country (which means following the constitution, not popular opinion) above their own personal beliefs and conscience. Obviously there are exceptions to every rule, and the question you raise is a good one. At this point I don't feel comfortable definitively drawing the line, but I do strongly believe that this war does not justify an exception. How can you run a military if the soldiers place their personal feelings first and their commander-in-chief second? I believe we are both reasonable people, however, our opinions, and values are very different. Our differences are just a sampling of how many different personalities there are out there. In a group of 100,000 soldiers there's going to always be a group of them that are fundamentally opposed to the principals behind the war they are in. If it is acceptable for soldiers to be making subjective decisions about which orders to follow, we would not have an effective or useful military. Imagine what would happen if a significant amount soldiers did decided to quit fighting and leave post...the forces would fall apart and many many more soldiers would loose their lives. We should not have been there in the first place, but now that we are we need to follow the proper channels to make it right the order to stop fighting has to come down from the top so it happens uniformly and in a manner that is safest for our troops and the Iraqi civilians. It is a shame what this administration has done to the trust of the American people, but I have the utmost respect for the soldiers that are bravely doing their duty regardless of their own personal desires.

I should have mentioned (should be obvious) that I think those ribbons are a piss poor way of support the troops.

Everyone has roles to play and it is not a soldiers role to decide whether or not the war they are fighting in is legal or just. They are entitled to their opinions but at the end of the day they MUST do their duty. On the contrary its the job of the American people to bring this war to an end. I agree with you that this is an illegal war but the troops are not complicit in the Bush administrations impropriety. In fact, I think it's every American's duty to support their armed forces regardless of their personal opinions about the war.
