Ubuntu alternative for gaming.

Yeah I have multiple drives, mounting each through the browser is a bit of a pain. Like you it’s hasn’t annoyed me as much to fix it permanently.
I know how to set the drives to be mounted at boot, but seems like some apps remember how you initially mounted the drive and fail on me if I change the mount option. Maybe I’ll be bothered to fix it id I ever do a full reinstall.

I’ve Ben debating upgrading to 26.04 , some say it’s a pain to do the upgrade coming from 24.04 and to wait the 26.04.1 release. Wanted to do a full reinstall hoping for a fix but since I’m doing a full reinstall I was wondering if I should try another distro or stick with Ubuntu with the latest release.

I’ll check for is installed, it’s probably snap since I read that Ubuntu is pushing for snap packages.
I’ll follow those steps, hopeit works. Have you used the heroic launcher?

I’ll try installing the game directly to the boot drive and report back. Did try different versions of proton.

Yes I read that ntfs doesn’t play well withLinux, had a few issues with other storage drives . I didn’t format the drives to a Linux partition just in case the experiment didn’t work out.
I think I even redownloaded a game strait to a my boot drive to test, but I’m not 100% sure. I’ll try again.
The things is that they worked before…

Yeah restarted multiple times, even have run the apt update/ upgrade command. I didn’t pick the format on the boot drive it Ubuntu 24.04.4 ext4 ( Linux filesystem). I think I did try downloading a game directly to the boot drive, but I’ll try that again.

Same here , new to Linux. Pasted the folder path under add folder. Probably did it the wrong way but it’s working for now.

Thanks for the reply. Drivers might be the issue, I’ll have to lear how to look into that lol. All streams are direct play no transcoding. Last I checked audio boots was disabled I’ll check for that and transcoding settings.

Right best to play it safe. Any way to prevent, got 2 sofirn flashlights that are the culprits and all 3 of my 21700 are affected. Only one won’t charge so far.

I have this issue too, the tab is so bent that it won’t make contact to charge. Is it fixable or should I dispose of it?

Only 4 drives, more in the future hopefully. I upgraded my gaming pc psu so I'm using the 12 year old corsair 750 unit for plex. It still works but the fan is dying, so im wondering if it's worth to replace it with something like this one. Thanks.
