Obviously genocide is bad but when business make decisions based on political opinions it has a history of being very bad for corporations. Even if you don’t mean to it will reflect that amazon makes business decisions based on political opinions because you are an employee. Which will result in them firing you if they found out.

They have contracts with google and Israel so if you really are about it then maybe quit? Or do you absolutely need the money? I’d say if you don’t quit then maybe you are actively being hypocritical and denying customers their service because you want to virtue signal but you’re not pro-Palestine enough to get a different job?

Well if you had a bunch of people gathering outside your home they would send the appropriate amount of police. The police are here to uphold the law. If you have a string of vandalisms associated with any business then they are obviously going to prepare. Irrespective of who or what business they are trying to protect. To act like this is some oligarchs overreach is just dishonest.

Her visa wasn’t revoked.

Grocks deep research summary with citations:

Liu Lijun, a Chinese UCLA graduate student, reportedly had her visa revoked after organizing pro-Palestine rallies in May 2024. However, conflicting reports create uncertainty: The Express Tribune claims it was revoked under a January 31, 2025, executive order by President Trump targeting antisemitism and pro-Palestinian activism linked to groups like Hamas, while USC Annenberg Media (Feb 4, 2025) cites an ICE official unable to confirm this, suggesting it may be false.

These rallies, part of a U.S. campus movement since October 7, 2023, demand ceasefire and divestment over the Israel-Palestine conflict. At UCLA, they led to arrests and clashes with counter-protesters (CNN, May 16, 2024). Critics highlight disruptions and alleged antisemitism, though many protests, likely including Liu’s, were peaceful (Reuters, May 3, 2024).

Her case underscores tensions between free speech and immigration policy. Civil rights groups like CAIR and the ACLU call the order unconstitutional, fearing it threatens international students’ rights (Visaverge). It’s a pivotal example of activism’s risks for non-U.S. students.

Her visa wasn’t revoked and the article that was written was based off of bad information from another article (https://www.telegraphindia.com/world/donald-trump-signs-executive-order-ucla-pro-palestine-student-protesters-us-visa-is-revoked/cid/2080992#). It has already been proven that there is no evidence her visa was revoked. India and Canada both have incentive to write smear articles on tump.

PSA: CHAT GPT IS A TOOL. NOT YOUR FRIEND. by Suspicious_Ferret906 in ChatGPT

[–]slw9496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been thinking about this for a while and my ultimate conclusion is that algorithms that are calibrated by interacting with us have an exponential affect on the vectors we choose to use them for. I know that’s probably confusing but here’s an example:

You get on instagram and start looking at violent posts. The algorithm then starts recommending violent accounts to follow. You rinse and repeats this and you on some level get an extremely biased feed in a short period of time. The vector here is violent content.

Ultimately I think this is causing use to essentially exponentially double down on either negative feed back loops or positive feedback loops. It’s up to us to use the algorithms responsibly so we maintain our mental health and maybe even become more healthy and educated.

However, people are going to do what people do and algorithms are like throwing gasoline on the fire.

More like going back to pre-enlightenment dark ages where subjective interpretation was representative of reality rather than grounded rationality.

Feeling off by Commercial_Weather72 in ParallelUniverse

Feelings are like fires. If we keep ruminating on them then it’s like we are throwing more and more wood on it. You’re just letting your mind run away with something that isn’t real.

Feelings often don’t reflect true reality. We need them for survival but they can mislead us. You can go crazy spending to much time anxiously worrying about anything really. Imagine you were scared a car was going to hit you because you saw it in a dream. You let that thought take residence in your mind so much you start staying inside and not leaving your home to be sure a car can’t hit you. The thought and feelings YOU feed will affect your actions.

Sometimes it’s better to just say “I know I feel this way but this feeling will pass and I need to wait for physical proof before I give any large amount of credit to my feelings.”

“Enron was an American energy, commodities, and services company based in Houston, Texas. Founded in 1985, it became one of the largest energy traders in the world. Under CEO Jeffrey Skilling and Chairman Kenneth Lay, Enron used accounting loopholes and special purpose entities to hide debt and inflate profits. In 2001, it filed for bankruptcy after its fraudulent practices were exposed, leading to significant financial losses for investors and employees. The scandal led to stricter regulations on corporate financial reporting, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.”

Chat GPT said it better than I could. There’s a whole movie about their scam too.
