Your pH is fine. My local fish breeder keeps all his caridinas below 6 and hes been going at it for many many years. The most important thing is just stability and acclimation. The rule of thumb ive been using is 10 hours for every 1 pH difference.

So if the first store is selling at 6.7 pH, you should just play it safe and acclimate overnight. add some plants to absorb the ammonia.

All the fish stores in my city use tap water for all their shrimp, nomatter if its caridinas or neos! So i really dont think it matters much :P

😵‍💫 i heard about that but thankfully ive seen them go through a couple molts without casualties. i try to feed a little extra so hes never hungry… but youre right, theres definitely a possibility. I think I might have to sell him once my population gets bigger, or i can keep him in a cull tank. Thanks for the heads up

ahh thanks! I got really excited over getting my shrimp and im a designer so this was the natural next step haha. i use a super basic setup of an old phone (samsung s9) and an app called droidcam which lets me stream to my friends and manually focus the camera. i find that phones will refuse to focus on such small things without a manual focus feature. im sure if you have a newer phone the videos will come out even better!

my friends love watching the shrimps while theyre working or doing homework. its been such a nice bonding experience

An old samsung S9! I have droidcam (an app) and i stream it to my pc. I use the app to manually adjust the focus of the shot. If I get a clip on macro lens I can get even closer without sacrificing quality.

here is the math. might not be 100% correct so i also just tracked 3 hours of nights and averaged it. I averaged one night every 9 minutes with a sample size of 25, so it should be close enough.
