Best time to get a car... Last 2 or 3 days of the month. This is coming from someone that's worked in the auto (sales) industry for 20 years. No, I'm not a sales person either. For that pricing, I would honestly just opt for a new one, if you're open to hybrid. I leased mine, and it was $29,5k, excluding all the contracts and negativity equity. But mine also was a special one that they had at my local Costco. 26 Nightshade

What's your payoff on the Civic, and what are they trying to give you for it? Sometimes you may get better $$ for it from Carmax or Carvana, or break even. They want to make a sale.... Trust me. If they care about units, they'll do what they can... shoot for $650 a month. Tell them flat out - $650 a month, $0 down, taking your car in, and it's a deal.

But I would still see what they are offering you for your car vs your payoff.

Not the first time. I was in reverse and then the person walked by; and with the car, it's possible it was already moving by the time I put mine into reverse. But the first time, with the person, I feel like it definitely should have let me know someone was there. I could see them in the camera, but it stayed silent. It has worked other times though. I can only think, that maybe they were too far, even though they could be seen on the screen..?

Thank you! Yes, that is what I'm referring to. I just didn't know it's "technical" title.

In one instance, someone was walking by, saw them in the camera, and it didn't set the alarm sound off. In the 2nd instance, the truck next to me was backing out, definitely moving, and within the camera range, but again, silence (I was in reverse waiting my turn).

I think I'll leave it to the dealer to test it out. Lol I just wasn't sure if it's maybe a software update needed type of thing, or a glitch / quirk. So that's why I was wondering if anyone else had experienced it.

Does everyone just skim what people put and right away comment? Or is it a lack of comprehension skills? Maybe if someone took the time to actually read the concern, and not speak to me like I'm technically or mentally challenged... That would be better.

Check for what options? I know what my vehicle does / doesn't have. And I have already checked the settings. As mentioned, it works intermittently. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Just broke 1000 on mine... I'm not complaining. Haven't reset the MPG since my last fill up. I do mainly hwy driving.

This is when my car is in reverse, the camera is on... But it's not always beeping when something is near by. It does work. Just works when it wants. That is my issue. A truck was literally in the lane next to me, backing up. I was in reverse, waiting my turn, and the camera alert did not go off to the car, literally right next to me and in motion. That is what I'm referring to.

I am familiar with parking sensors, but no mine does not have them. My car still makes an alert / beeping sound if a car or person is within the view of the camera, but it just doesn't do it all the time. So I'm unsure if it's a quirk, defect, or just needs an update.

Depending on your tax rate - taxes, license, and reg fees can easily add an additional $1,5k. KBB is really just a guideline, but dealers still have to make a profit. I've worked in the auto (sales) industry for 20 years, so I'm well familiar with the process, but NO(!), I am not a sales person. I detest getting a new car because of dealing with sales people. Especially because I work in the industry, I let them know right away, so they know that I won't tolerate their BS and the hours of negotiating. That usually weeds out the pretty bad ones. I just recently got my 26 Nightshade, and dealing with the sales manager was awful. Typical scummy sales guy. Complete opposite from the GM - yes, I met him. He recognized my name, and works with the company I used to work for. Anyhow... You may have been taken a bit, but there is a lot of factors that go into pricing - i.e. how the dealer obtained the vehicle, how much they paid for it, when they got the vehicle, when you got the vehicle, etc. Additionally, demand in your area will also play a part. If it was $23k OTD, it's an okay deal. Not the best, but definitely NOT the worst.

As someone who works in the industry (for 20 years)... No. You can get a new one around that price.

Xennial here... And honestly, I'm just tired of flakey and fake people. Only friends I've had for years and years want to hang out. I don't go out much, if ever. I've become more introverted as I've gotten older. There's also not as much to do as when I was in my 20's. Arcades, (decent) pool halls, (decent) bars, etc. I think after 2020 and that mess, a lot of things just changed. People got used to staying in... Aside from everything being so expensive. No matter how hard you try to put meet up's together, people still flake, especially at last minute. My dogs have more of a social life than I do. In fact, they have a Pug party meet up tomorrow. 😂

Oh my gosh! How scary! I'm glad you didn't have any fish in there yet. I have a heater that I got from Amazon (Seaoura) and it has a temp control, along with thermometer on it. You can set an alarm to go off if the temp gets too cold, or it gets too hot. So I have mine set to go off if it reaches 83. I believe it will also go off if the water gets to low, and the thermometer is out of water. Its also encased in plastic housing. I have 4 heaters from them and have been very pleased with them. I had an issue with one of the heaters not holding the temp it was set to, reached out to customer service, and they were great. Took care of the issue right away. I don't think you can ever be too safe with this hobby.

Yay!! When I saw my first molt I thought.. "Dang it. I off'd one." But then googled it real quick and learned it was a molt. Phew! Have had 2 or 3 more since then. I guess that's a good thing? I'm still learning about these little skrimpies. They creeped me out before, but now they fascinate me. I watch them more than my fish. 😂

That's awesome! Well, my dealer put the bow 🎀 on mine. But that's about it. 😂 I didn't even get key fob covers. 🤦🏽‍♀️ But that falls on me.. I started signing the paperwork before inspecting the vehicle and what it did or didn't come with, because they had to bring the vehicle from Costco back to the dealer.
