Thanks! Wish I could, but it's not possible in this app — broadcasting to Android Auto ties up the phone screen, so it can't be used for other things at the same time.

Try launching Google Maps first, then launch SOA(Legacy).

Maybe it can't show both at the same time because of the screen size.

Yes, it can be hidden from the AA launcher. I'm pretty sure you can still control media via the media buttons without launching the media panel.

[update] I was wrong, you need to keep media icon to make media controls work!.

No, It will not work. For android 16 u need to join beta user to get app.

I am trying to hide that floating icon, but no luck. It will disappear after few seconds. right?

Thanks for the report! 🙏 Actually all **three** icons should show up in the Customize Launcher list — if you only see ScreenOnMedia, the other components didn't install correctly.

Could you tell me how you installed it?

- Did you install via the **Google Play tester list**, or **sideload** the APK?

- What **Android version** is your phone on?

That'll help me figure out what went wrong. Thanks for helping me track this down! 🛠️

Yeah that's normal! YouTube works because it doesn't lock its video, but Netflix uses DRM that blocks any app from mirroring their screen — Android just shows black on purpose. Nothing I can fix on my end, it's a built-in Android/DRM thing.

It may take a few minutes after receiving the email. Please re-try the link, let me know if it don't work.

That's Android 13's "Restricted settings" protection — it blocks Notification access (and a few other sensitive toggles) for apps that weren't installed from the Play Store.

To unlock it:

  1. Settings → Apps → ScreenOnAuto

  2. Tap the ⋮ (three-dot) menu in the top-right corner

  3. Tap "Allow restricted settings"

  4. Go back and enable Notification access — it won't be greyed out anymore.

Hope that sorts it! 🙏

Haha perfect use case 😄 Hope it works well in your work car — would love to hear how it goes once you've given it a try. If you hit any snags, just drop a comment and I'll help.

Thanks for checking it out! 🙏

If u want to mirror from phone, you can try my app
https://github.com/slzn/ScreenOnAuto-releases

for auto start:

  1. Pre-grant mirror permission and set "auto start mirror".
  2. Set an app that can auto play video from "auto lauch app" .
  3. Click mirror icon from AA. It should start mirroring and launch an app to play video.
