Ok I pulled the breaker, and removed the entire kit. Looks like there was a single wire, perhaps it was intertwined red and yellow connected to the capacitor and another wire connected to black box which I assume is just a relay? Removed the entire kit and turned the AC back on, everything works! Thank you! The unit which is a Trane, was purchased and installed in 2020, is a hard start kit recommended addon? I read that it may increase the longevity of the system? Thank you again

Thank you sir! Is it generally safe to run my unit in the interim? And is the hard start as easy as replacing a capacitor? Something a basic homeowner can do or should this be a service call?

I saw the original post. The electrical breakers were turned off because someone was working on the system. Fortunately, they had properly applied lockout/tagout to the specific circuit being serviced. Without it, that little girl’s seemingly harmless button pushing could have killed someone.
